Chapter 1
Scar, who finished grinding to level 24 made his way to the next zone, the spider den he heard so much about. When he first entered the zone Scar initially thought it had snowed in the area as the trees and ground were covered in white.
However the moment he took a closer look he realized it wasn’t snow, it was all spiders web! When Charlotte who he summoned saw this she shuddered in pure bliss.
She looked like she was about to run head first into the web however Scar had to stop her when he saw all the players in the area.
They were all gathered around a campfire and several other them were looking at him, he recognized several of them.
He called out.
“Long time no see WildFairy! I think I also saw Red and Gladius, I didn’t expect to see so many friends in one place.”
When they heard their names being called all three of the people he mentioned looked at him. WildFairy and Gladius walked over to him while Red Berzerker simply nodded in his direction before continuing his conversation.
Scar first looked at WildFairy who was being followed by several figures. He recognized 2 of them but the third was a strange new creature. He obviously recognized Arthur and Eve, the two pets of WildFairy.
Eve, the little albino panther had already grown to be utmost 5 feet tall while Arthur was also around 5 feet tall. The third creature however was a new creature he had never seen, it looked like a moth and it was extremely beautiful as its wings were emitting some kind of dust.
“Long time no see to both you Eve and Arthur as well, and this is a new face.”
Both Eve and Arthur made their way over to say hello but the moth stayed near WildFairy. She was smiling at Scar as she spoke.
“Long time no see Scar, you somehow managed to catch up with me. This here is Alba the Sunset Moth, she is a rare creature from the rainbow rivers that only appears at sunset.”
As she introduced her Alba landed on her arm, Alba had a wingspan of around 4 feet and her wings were the colors of a sunset blues and oranges.
The powder she emitted was the same colors as her wings making a very beautiful picture on the arm of WildFairy.
Gladius on one side who didn’t talk to WildFairy also took this opportunity to join the conversation.
“Thank you for telling me where to find fairies Scar, I had quite a lot of fun. I should introduce myself to you as well, my name is Crixus Gladius.”
WildFairy seemed to recognize him though.
“You’re the PvP player right, the one who always plays gladiator characters right.”
Scar wondered if Gladius was some kind of celebrity as he watched the two start talking about previous games. Scar was not a big gamer before ‘Myth’, he could be called a casual.
From what he gathered though Gladius was one of the best PvP players in a previous game, he had times when he was put into the top 100 but he most rotated around the top 500 players in any game he played.
This was even though many of the games he played had several million players. Scar looked at him with much more respect, he wasn’t just knowledgeable about mythology but he was also very good at games.
No wonder he lost so easily to him in the arena, he wondered if they fought again if he would stand a chance. With Cyrus’s new armor the same strategy as last time wouldn’t work against him.
That wasn’t the main reason he called out to them though, he quickly spoke up to the 2 of them as they were getting very excited.
“I just wanted to take a look at the situation here in this spider den. Most players really are stuck here, what makes it so tough?”
WildFairy turned her eyes back to Scar and spoke.
“Do you remember that giant spider we encountered in our first 2 weeks, this is where it came back to. The spiders are also much tougher than the ones we encountered back there, we have tried to fight through the area but we are always attacked by the spider queen. We have also tried to sneak past however only very high agility players with stealth have managed to make it past for some reason.”
She seemed to think back to something as she spoke.
“That Shadow kid was the first person to make it through, he told us to just learn the stealth skill and then we could probably make it past. It isn’t that easy though that kid is just too annoying he won’t explain it.”
Scar wondered if WildFairy was really angry, so he asked a simple question.
“Have you tried going a different way, surely there must be another way.”
WildFairy sighed.
“I thought about that too, I tamed Ava to see if I could fly over it but it says players are not allowed to fly yet. I heard that wind mages can fly though so I don’t understand.”
Scar looked at Elvinia on his shoulder and thought back to the pan sitting in his storage bag, he decided to keep it a secret for the moment.
Scar then looked around, more specifically he looked at the mountain he just came from, he could easily climb that with Charlotte and just avoid it. He could also have Elvinia teleport him from one safe place to another.
He wondered if no one else could do something like that. When he asked this to WildFairy out of curiosity she asked if she could borrow Charlotte.
Charlotte however wouldn’t allow anyone but Scar to ride her, Scar also didn’t want to force her to do something she didn’t want to.
He asked another question.
“Why don’t you tame a spider or something that can climb a mountain? There must be something you can do, no?”
WildFairy seemed to think of something as she muttered.
“What about that mount system I unlocked?”
Scar, who heard this, asked immediately.
“Mount system? What’s that?”
WildFairy spoke like it wasn’t anything important.
“At level 25 everyone gets access to a mount system, you can get non combat creatures that you can ride on. For beast tamers we can simply use one of our pets as a mount so I never thought about it, but what if I get a spider mount or something else similar.”
Gladius who was listening quietly on the side also licked his lip at this though. Many locations were locked off by mountains, if they get a mount who can climb these mountains wouldn’t they be much better off.
They both seemed to think of something as they looked back in the direction they had come from, Scar was left confused as they suddenly spoke.
“Thank you Scar, I’m off! Nice seeing you, we’ll meet up later!”
“I shall also be off, you have helped me again Scar. I shall return this favor in the future.”
After both of them rushed off Scar was left alone and confused. Scar was about to leave when he heard a voice from the distance.
“Hey Scar, may I ask what you told them.”
It was Red who called out, Scar didn’t think it was a big deal so he spoke.
“They ran off to get mounts for some reason.”
Red said thank you.
“I am still trying to find a place to return my debt to you Scar, please keep waiting and I promise to return the debt of helping me in the past.”
After saying this he went back to talking with his group. Scar thought Red was quite the good guy despite his looks. If he wasn’t always surrounded by a group he might try to be better friends with the man.
After having this thought Scar thought about whether he should go look at the spider den or if he should return to town.
If WildFairy had stayed he would have asked her to show him around but since she was gone he decided to go back.
After walking away to a safe place he had Elvinia teleport him to the Basalt Fairy village before he made his way back to Bregenz.
When he made it to the gates he was stopped, however after saying he was Scar the unfamiliar guards let him in. Their eyes were completely on his ears though.
He wondered if they finally got new guards to bolster the lacking numbers. As he was walking Avalon said she was going to go check up on the dogs in town.
She seemed to form relations with the local guard dogs so he didn’t stop her. Scar didn’t dare to have Fortress summoned in town since he would block a majority of the street, therefore he was followed by the other 3 pets.
Everyone he passed was staring at his ears but Scar completely ignored it. He was making his way to the town hall to report all of his findings from this trip.
He was stopped again at the gate between the upper and lower district. This time though he recognized some of the guards.
“Hey Sarca, it’s me Scar. I’m here to report to Brigita my findings from my last expedition.”
Sarca, who was staring at him, came back to his senses.“Alot seems to have happened while you were gone.”
After chuckling, Scar responded while fiddling with her ears.
“Yup, and you seemed to have finally got some backup.”
Sarca looked at the new guards and agreed. After this he was allowed to travel all the way to the town hall.
When he was guided to the room of Brigita he was allowed to skip the line. When he entered the room he saw a completely drained woman lying on the desk.
“Long time no see, you look tired.”
When she heard this voice Brigita sat up and looked at Scar.
“What happened to you!”
After saying that she jumped up and ran over to his side. She started pulling on his ears as if to see if they were real.
“Ow ow ow, please don’t pull them. Madam Brigita I have come to report not to be assaulted.”
“Tell me what happened right now!”
He wasn’t even given time to catch his breath.
“It was a reward from Titania, I have it in my report if you would let me do it.”
When she heard this she finally left him and went back to her desk. She no longer was laying flat on the desk though.
It was as if just seeing Scar was enough to blow away all the exhaustion and frustration.
“Very well report Scar.”
After this Scar started his report with Brigita carefully taking notes. He started with handing over his maps of the locations he had been to so far.
2nd zone (16-20) Shady Valley
1 is a plateau with tall grass
2 is a cliff side above the ocean weeping willow forest
3 is a shady forest
4 is a shady field
5 is a series of steep rock formations Zhangjiajie National Park, China
3rd zone (21-24) Lake front
1 is a massive Lake
2 is a shallow waters Mono Lake, California
3 is a rainbow river Colombia’s Caño Cristales Fairy village
4 is a series of connected lakes Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park
Brigita decided that his maps that were much more detailed than other adventurers were worth half a reward token.
The next thing he reported was the existence of the dungeon in the weeping willow forest. She had planned on giving him a reward token for this as well since he played a key part in stopping the scheme of the fomorians.
Next Scar reported about the existence of the building in the shady forest. Brigita stopped him here and asked for more details.
Scar gave her a complete recount of the place, the creatures he encountered, and even showed her the books he got from the building.
Brigita gave an offer of 2 reward tokens and money if he promised to hand over the books, notes, and materials he obtained from this place. She said that this was very important and could greatly boost the strength of necromancers in the Faelands.
Scar happily agreed, they would go to a storage room after this where they would store all of the books. Not only would he get reward tokens but he would also help a large group of players with a new class option.
After this he reported about his experience in the fairy village. He reported the rough location of the village as well as the fact that fairies will now travel out of their sanctuaries to play around.
He requested that they are protected after feeling a glare from above. She said she would report this information and offer him a reward token for this information.
The last thing Scar reported was his many beast compendium pages. She paid particular attention to the little hedgehog while muttering something about a spiked menace.
Scar told her that the little hedgehog was very kind, so long as you feed it some fruit or veggies it would be extremely happy.
She said that all of this information was worth 5 reward tokens, combined with his previous 4 he now had a total of 9 tokens.
This was enough for him to trade for one of the many skills held by the royal family. Scar was in such a good mood that he dragged Brigita out of her office to have a meal.
Brigita didn’t resist as she was dragged, she did retaliate though by pulling on his ear teasing him for being an elf.
Scar didn’t know previously but elves were supposed to be a female only race. That was the reason he got a weird title like ‘Male Elf’,
Scar had no retaliation for this teasing, his looks were already effeminate and now he was a female only race. Was someone trying to make him a real trap?
After being teased for a while he finally retaliated by teasing her for being stuck behind a desk all day. She puffed up her chest though and told him that she had gone on her own adventure, Scar was then forced to listen to her little expedition.
Scar asked her to summon Duffy so he could meet her companion, he would treat him to a meal as well. Scar hadn’t cooked in an actual kitchen for the entire time he was on his journey and he was dying to make a fancy dish.
Brigita didn’t mind and the massive Duffy appeared right next to her. It looked around at first to check if there was a fight, when it didn’t notice anything it looked at Brigita confused.
“We are getting a free meal, this here is Scar. Treat him well.”
Duffy then looked at Scar, so this was the one male Brigita often talked about. She was extremely jealous of his adventures and wished she could go on her own.
Duffy however couldn’t reveal his companions secret thought though so he followed quietly behind. Scar on the other hand was complementing Duffy for being so impressive.
This made Duffy quite happy as he started wagging his tail. It was only after half an hour or so later that Avalon returned to join them for lunch.
When the 2 met there was a stare off. Scar had just finished cooking so everyone else was currently eating, they watched as the two large dogs stared at each other.
They slowly started approaching each other at the same time. Scar was worried they might fight but they started circling around each other sniffing each other.
“It looks like they are getting along.”
“Hurry over here or else the food will turn cold Duffy.”
When they heard talk about food they stopped their meaningless struggle for supremacy and got to what was really important, food.
Scar watched as the two ran over with wagging tails. The short tail of Duffy was wagging at a speed hard to see, Scar wanted to go over and pet him.
But Avalon suddenly growled at him, Scar turned his face back to Avalon and forced a smile. To appease the madam he gave her extra food on her plate.
She let out a content noise as she started eating. Scar went back to eating his own dish as he continued his conversation with Brigita.
“So what were you saying about the corpse reconstruction skill?”
Brigita was currently digging into a big piece of steak so she fully swallowed before continuing from where she stopped before.
She nearly choked so Scar handed her a glass of water. After downing it in one gulp Brigita responded.
“Yeah, like what I was saying before I think that the skill you found will be used to form a new group of necromancers in the capital. It is also very likely to end up in the royal family’s collection of skills.”
Scar nodded as he cut his piece of steak with a knife.
“Do you know much about the collection of skills? I plan to travel back to Ayr and try to find another combat skill to learn.”
When Brigita heard this she nodded before continuing.
“As you know my family is famous for our synchronization skill, there are many other families and skills similar to ours. The skills you will find are going to be skills like synchronization, in fact I believe there is a copy of it in the library.”
“Do you know any exact skills?”
Brigita had to think for quite some time before coming up with some examples.
“I think you will find several druidic types of magic like tree magic, it may sound weak but trees are everywhere for a reason. You might also find things like witchcraft or blood magic. But you wouldn’t be interested in any of those, I don’t know but there should be at least a few things that would benefit you.”
Scar got very excited when he heard this. Scar could imagine all of the skills she mentioned and they all seemed very fun and unique.
Scar could imagine a witch flying on a broomstick casting hexes and curses to those below. He could also imagine druids controlling the trees to stand up and gain life.
They reminded him that Brian seemed to be studying something similar to that.
It was all so fun and interesting, Scar couldn’t wait to go and find himself a unique skill. Would he learn a new type of taming or would he gain something to buff his pets.
His mind started running wild as he slowly ate his food, while he was eating he still kept up his conversation with Brigita.
It was mostly her complaining about being stuck behind the desk all the time, Scar at first comforted her before he had an idea.
“Why don’t you make a reason to go on another exploration like to the dungeon. For example you could say, ‘I need to go investigate the fairy village’ or ‘I must find the reason for the endless night in the valley’.”
When he said this Brigita’s eyes shined for several seconds as she gulped.
“I could never make up such excuses.”
“They wouldn’t be excuses if you actually investigated right? I have another even better idea, why don’t you set up a squad to patrol for abnormalities like that snake den.”
Brigita started to shake slightly.
“But, would Sir Caratacus really agree? Would I finally get out from behind that blasted desk that doesn’t suit me at all!”
Her voice started to rise as she continued speaking, it was as if she was convincing herself.
“You wouldn’t know unless you tried right?”
Brigita felt like his words were absolutely true, she wouldn’t know unless she tried. When she was about to get up and go try immediately Scar stopped her.
“You need a plan first, think of the reasons he might reject and come up with counter arguments. I used to be really good at this, it was the only way I was allowed to leave the house and work in kitchens.”
Scar wasn’t lying here. His adopted parents wanted him to stay at home, he was still unaccustomed to his wheelchair but he wanted to cook.
In order to get the permission to start cooking in high school he had to argue and debate for almost a week straight. He became quite good at debates after this.
The 2 then spent several hours in the back of Scar’s house in the kitchen coming up with reasons for Brigita to be allowed to travel.

The next day the 2 of them went to the daily meeting and pitched this idea with a full blown presentation, they were ready to smash all opposition but Caratacus only smiled and responded with one condition.
“You may go, but I want you to travel along Scar to experience the life of an adventurer. I believe he will be returning to Ayr after his long expedition. Brigita you should take this time to prepare yourself for a longer adventure as well.”
When they heard this the 2 turned their heads and looked at eachother. They had come up with hundreds of possible situations but this wasn’t one of them.
Of course it wouldn’t be, this was the whim of the self proclaimed love doctor Caratacus. He just wanted to give an opportunity to Brigita, who he viewed as a daughter, to go on an adventure with a man who treated her well.
They wouldn’t understand this though since the 2 were completely ignorant of love.
For them this was simply an unexpected situation, it was a pleasant surprise though. They both smiled at each other while Caratacus looked pleased with his work.
The meeting then proceeded with Brigita sharing much of the information Scar reported, Scar also added on. Strangely Caratacus seemed quite interested in the little hedgehog and Scar had to convince him to leave it alone.
Instead Scar said Caratacus could possibly hunt the undead chimera or the creature in the lake that scared all of the players.
Once the report was done Scar told Brigita to prepare herself some sleeping tents and rations and he would return in around a week or so for their adventure into the spider nest.
