The inevitable
Inevitable.
Bound to happen whether you like it or not.
The flow of my blood and the beat of my heart.
The empty feeling that fills my veins.
The monster that seeps through my cracks and into my brain.
The urges. The u r ge s…
T h e u r g e s.
The urges that wrap around my limbs like vines around trees, pulling and constricting until the breath leaves my lungs. Not settled until a pair of hands that I thought were mine slice away all of the pain and suffering.
Than I breathe.
I breathe so deep I remember who I am, and who these hands belong to. And what I just did.
And I panic.
I panic and debate and fight until I let my legs do the walking and the arm do the talking.
Than someone yells
“What the fuck?”
And I crack.
“Evelyn how could you do this?”
And I break.
“I’m so sorry.”
And I shatter.
I guess it was inevitable.
