Drunken Times In The Bentley
It had been 3 weeks since Aziraphale left for heaven, 3 weeks of drinking his brains out and getting kicked out of several bars. It was around 10 at night, Crowley was at a bar downtown called "The Nightingales Square" which he found quite ironic.
"Why why Angel! We-uhfph w-we coulda been us. Alone at Alpha...uh Alpha Centauri but you have to throw it all away!" He was almost alone in the bar but was getting strange looks from the other people. He could hear people whispering, calling him 'crazy' and ‘a lunatic'. But he was no lunatic in his eyes, just a worthless Demon whose love of his life left him for heaven. Heaven. The place that didn't even want him, or Angel. He couldn't understand why Angel would leave his whole life behind for that place, that toxic place.
Crowley looked up in surprise to see a lean man with dark brown hair and a jet-black suit; "Hey-uh sorry bud but I think you've had enough and I'm going to need you to leave." The man tried to grab the bottle of Scotch out of Crowley's hand but failed when the demon hissed and moved it out of reach. "Okay keep the Scotch but please just leave we don't need you scaring away our customers." The lean man points to the door. Crowley looked at the door for a bit and something caught his eye, a brightly lit sign with the words 'Ritz' hung up on a building across the street.
"Ugh. Yea yea, I'll leave. Uh, thank you for your service an ol." He sat up, almost falling, and started to walk out the door. He started to walk home to his Bentley a couple blocks down.
The scotch bottle was almost empty at this point the alcohol sloshing around in the bottle. Crowley looked into the bottle watching the Scotch slosh around and started to mumble, "Oh Angel, you fuckin bastard, I loved you, but by ol means I've only been with ya fo like before the dawn of time and ya blast me off like that."
He soon got to the Bentley, his stunning car that is the only thing he's kept. He used to have plants in his car but ultimately stopped caring for them because nothing was worth caring for after Aziraphale left him. He was barely caring for himself, getting drunk every day and night, never knowing when too much was too much. He fell face-first into the back seat of the car, the bottle of alcohol falling out of his hand and breaking on the carpet. "Fuckin' fucker. Mmmph uhhhh." He shrugged it off and told himself he'd clean it tomorrow which was most likely not going to happen but, you never know.
Soon enough Crowley fell into a deep sleep, letting all the pain and drunkenness leave his body.
He soon woke up with an enormous headache and his body aching with every movement. He woke up to a tape called "Queen's Greatest Hits" and the song 'Somebody to Love’' playing
"Ah fuck you", he gripped his face pulling his glasses off his face and letting his arms fall limp, and laid there listing to the music and letting the memories flood back in.
"Lord, what are you doing to me?"
"I've spent all my years believing you. But I just can't get no relief."
"Somebody. Ooh Somebody"
"Can anybody find me someone to love"
Crowley started to remember the day Aziraphale left. He was so certain he made the right decision after all he'd known the Angel for more than the beginning and was hoping the Angel shared the same feelings. Crowley fell for the Angel when he gave the humans the flaming sword. But didn't quite realize his feelings until a friend of theirs Nina was having trouble with her own love life and made him question his.
Crowley got up and decided to head to the nearby store to buy some more boos and food. He was in the mood for breakfast but couldn't get himself to get anything because of how much it reminded him of Aziraphale. The angel loved his crepes and would make the Demon breakfast every so often. Angel was amazing at making bacon, eggs, pancakes, crepes, you name it, it was one of Crowleys fondest memories. Sitting in Aziraphales bookshop with a warm cup of tea and an insane amount of bacon and eggs on his plate. Oh, how he missed his Angel.
He was soon enough at the store and was looking around in the alcohol section and grabbed himself 5 bottles of scotch. 5 bottles sound like a lot and it quite is even for Crowley but demons need more Alcohol than the average human does for the same effect.
He was walking back with the alcohol in hand when he passed Aziraphale's old bookshop. The huge old brick building in all its glory. He looked inside and saw Muriel, she was sitting on a coffee table reading a book called, "The setting sun." He decided to walk into the bookshop for the first time in weeks.
"Hello Muriel, fancy seeing you here." He set his scotch down on an antique armchair.
Muriel looked up and her face brightened; "Crowley! Hello! I haven't seen you in well. How long has it been? Uhhh 3 weeks? How have you been? You look like you ran into a bus." She offered him tea and he took it, realizing it was the mug Jim, or well, Gabriel left behind when he went off with Beelzebub for Alpha Centauri. He played with the wings of the white cup looking at it sadly
"I've. I've been fine. Living in my ol Bentley for 3 weeks hasn't been the most fun though." He took a sip of his tea, thinking for a moment about how it could've been him and Aziraphale off together and not Gabrial and Bel. Longing to switch places with them.
Muriel set her book down and put a bookmark in it. "Well, you don't look like you're fine to be. Has Aziraphale leaving done much to you?" Crowley looked surprised. He wasn't ready for her to be so blunt about it. Of course, he was upset about it. He was furious even, about how Angel could just up and leave like that. Without even saying goodbye.
"Uh eh, I miss the bastard but I'm okay." He in fact wasn't okay. "I think I'll head out so you can finish your book there," Muriel said goodbye as well and Crowley walked out of the bookshop, who knows maybe that's the last time he'd ever see the old home of angel Aziraphale.
*heyo reader, I'm planning on writing chapter 2 soon! I have school and a personal life so I apologize in advance. Chapter 2 will mostly be based on how Aziraphale is adjusting to life in heaven as an Archangel*
