Starry lights

The fake faces of the smiling dead,

people coming from all over the town,

paying homage to the long-gone graves,

telling them it’s all okay, don’t stay apart.

Light under the bridge, you & I meet,

the soul flying high with the clouds,

as the bustling street stopped the flow,

my tears intermingle with your sound.

I take steps with the wobbling heart,

slow-paced music under cosmic dance,

why did you stop? I ask low-toned,

the shaking fingers paving the lost path.

Past kills past, present always rings,

the universe it is, flow with the winds,

stay upfront, don't look back at me,

I was not yours, after all, to begin with.

Still my wish, I say, I want to embrace,

at last, you are me, for the past sake, I appeal,

it will change nothing, you smile,

as my tears vanish with you in the starry light.

~ Serenus

A/n: Embracing your past self, and holding onto them won't change anything, wipe off your tears, rise again, smile at them, and flow with the winds.
