A day ends

Sam waited for the car to pass, It was something he had seen all the time. It passed the zebra crossing, A girl looked at the signal at that time. The rain clouds were hovering over the street, the downpour appeared so very eager to drop down. The signal flashed, the girl crossed really very gently. Balancing her phone in her left hand, the red car stopped at Sam's side.

The car door opened, he could see his teacher coming out. Sam knew about Mr. mason as an architect who could rebuild a person's mentality out of nothing. It was the hardest task ever for him. Mr. Mason came near him.

A black coat and sky blue denims, it was his casual wear.

"Good evening sir." Sam said.

It was the usual uneasy face that greeted his words. Mr. Mason always appeared to be having one expression in his face, the patchwork of stress that the higher studies burdened to him. Salt lake collage had the pride to be with him, he had a gold medal in physics Olympiad over 4 years back. His genius was revealed and used in various projects, he worked for days and nights to unify the pursuit of life and science into one.

"Good evening, you look a bit off today. Was the coffee bitter in taste?" Mr. Mason asked. it was his way to joke around a serious environment.

Sam had walked out of the café almost 15 minutes before, he was scrolling his phone as the plate of macaroni and cheese was dissolving in his mouth.

"No, I have some work at home. The projects are due, I am working on the practice sheet. I guess, it's enough to put an expression like that."

"Work? I thought that you lived alone." Mr. Mason asked.

"Yes, a bit of housework. I have to clean my room, put the dishes for wash, and wait for the cook to come. Then, I will settle for a study for some hours. Is it getting boring?" Sam questioned in a polite way.

"I am also a man, a man who lives. So, it's nothing new to me. If you hear mine, it will melt you. I have a family unlike your single stay, Huh." Mr. Mason said, he looked at the bench at the front.

"Do you want to sit there?" Sam asked, Mr. Mason gave a smile to him.

"You still act like a polite student to me, be a little open. I like to forget about my work at these times." Mr. mason suggested.

They started walking till the tree at the left side.

"I can tell you something." Mr. Mason said, his eyebrows loosened from the tightness he had earlier, "Ralph is doing better now. It seems that you gave him notes for my exam, didn't you?"

"No." Sam said in a playful way, "Ralph is more of a lone warrior. He helped across your problems in the monthly test, I and Claire rely on him for all of our needs. Yes." Sam ended with a smile on his face.

He wanted the conversation to end on a good note.

Mr. Mason pulled out his phone, and opened up Spotify. He had a speedy way to scroll though his playlists, he played a calm lo-fi beat. The clouds were a bit near to completely cover the moon, Sam could feel the ambience completing.

His ears caught a guitar a bit later, it came from the bench.
