TW Assult, Implied Assult, Smoking, Gore

Chapter 1

He stares at the pitcher adjusting his grip on the bat as he settles his feet into the ground. The pitcher throws the ball at high speeds he hits it and drops his bat before running as fast as his feet can carry him he watches and counts one, two,.He slides to the third base before waiting in anticipation right now the game was tied 5 to 5 if he doesn’t make this the team is basically doomed. After a couple minutes of anticipation and anguish the ref then gets on the speaker.

“Safe” he calls the crowd erupting in cheers before settling down as the next batter steps up. He swings but misses strike one he swings again strike two he swing one last time before hitting the ball it flys through the sky Casy doesn’t miss a beat and runs to the home base his the adrenaline pumping through him as he dead sprints to home base. He nears the base before sliding the rest of the way as he touches base he feels an intense sting in his eye and face. He freezes trembling he looks at his pants witch have burn holes in them. He blinks and falls back the pain becoming to much to bare.

He wakes up in a hospital room he can’t see out of his right eye he then touches the bandages covering his right eye and face. A nurse walk in.

“Hello Casy are you feeling alright?..” she asks in a soft voice before walking up to Casy and removing the bandages. She then grab a small handheld mirror and hands in face down to Casy. He takes the mirror and brings it to his face. He looks at his reflection speechless. His right eye is damaged beyond repair. The skin around his eye and right ear is no longer there replaced. by big bloody scabs. He can feel tears flowing down his face. He quickly wipes them away and gets up.

“Ms?.. will I be able to play baseball again?”

‘’ One year later ‘’

He sits down outside the bar cigarette in his mouth. He places his hands on his face sighing loudly before tossing the cigarette to the ground and stepping on it as he stands up and heads down the side walk avoiding the broken glass witch proved difficult considering the dimly lit sidewalk. He starded at the ground noting the sound his foot made as it hit the ground. Tip tap tip tap tip tap

He enters his apartment complex before walking up the stairs. He looks in front of him and sees a young man no older than 20 with a bloody nose pinned against the wall by a much older man probably in his 40.

“Hey leave the kid alone” Casy says his voice deep and husky as he grabs the man’s shoulder. The man turns around and punches Casy in the face. Casy staggers back before coming back and bashing the older man’s face into the wall.

“Don’t f### with me” Casy says menacingly into the man’s ear before letting him go. The younger man was gripping onto the railing so hard his knuckles were white. The older man runs up the stairs and into his apartment. Casy sighs and walks away only to feel a pull of his jacket sleeve. He turns around before looking down at the boy.

“T-thank you…” he mumbles barely audible.

Casy nods and turns to leave again, but the boy stops him

“L-let me t-take care o-of your face…”he mumbles again his hands trembling.

“..ok you do that but you might not like what you see…” Casy replies gently pulling his sleeve away. The boy nods and walks up the stairs feeling nervous at Casy’s words.

Casy follows the boy into his apartment before looking around. There are not any photos or decorations but the fridge has a list of names and time and date and a ‘L’ with a word he try’s to read it but the boy pulls his coat sitting him down before taking the papers down his face red like a tomato.

“So what’s your name?” Casy asks as the boy removes the bandages covering his scars.

“Oh I’m Anthony!” He says surprisingly not fazed by Casy’s scar a couple minutes go by before Casy says

“…you don’t have to act like you don’t see it I know there ugly…” locking eyes with Anthony.

“Oh…”Anthony says before taking off his turtle neck revealing his scared chest

“Your scars are like mine..”he says blushing slightly before grabbing it to put it back on. Casy grabs his hands looks him in the eye. “How’d you get them?..” Casy asked genuinely concerned.

“…acid..” Anthony mumbled putting his shirt back on.

“Ok that part is obvious but like how… what were you doing?!” Casy asks raising his voice slightly scaring Anthony.

“I-I…” he mumbles clenching his pant leg.

“Never mind you don’t have to tell me….” Casy says as Anthony cleans the blood of of his cheekbone before putting some ice on it.

“Now let me take care of you…”
