"I was asked to read this book as part of a swap a while ago. I went MIA and didn't read it. I am back now. I absolutely regret not reading this sooner. It was such a unique story. It was like nothing i've ever read before. I thought this was amazing. I was addicted. I sheded a few tears when I saw I was at the end. This is a fabulous piece of writing and I would definetly recommend reading this to anyone."

"I don't usually cry over books but this one made me. You've outdone yourself and I'm proud of your work. Wes and Sidney's relationship is so precious. Their bond seemed to straighten when her dad passed, unfortunately. I don't like her mother's attitude or her mother for that matter. This was a wonderful book and I can't wait for it to update. Happy writing!"
The Cat is Out of the Bag!
"Sidney was used to suffering all kinds of humiliation in her life. Beginning with a selfish mother who dumps her only daughter in order to pursue another man, to Sidney’s own nerdy father who is easily intimidated by a long ago, bully. Life can’t get much worse than that, right? “Sidney, it’s time for you to dress up as Catwoman,” her father announces. That’s right. Sidney is required to dress up in a 1970’s style Catwoman outfit, while her father pretends to be Superman with fake padded muscles. At least, Sidney thinks, her father was wise enough not to dress as Batman be and avoid that awkward love connection. Even so, it is easy to become overwhelmed with embarrassment when she and her father are the only ones who are dressed in costumes. It was time to go outside for some fresh air. I could continue with the sweet and amusing encounter with her soon-to-be love interest Wes, (the two of them fall off a cliff together) but this review is long enough already. Suffice it to say this is a well-written, humorous and tender love story. I was highly impressed. Author Sarahere knows how to deliver the laughs, the pain and the tender moments that come with falling in love. My favorite character was Sidney who Sarahere has given a surprisingly amount of realism and depth. Quite refreshing, where most writers turn their protagonist’s into Mary Sues. I dare say this is one of the best love stories on Inkitt."

"I love the way the story is written the pacing is amazing and flows well, the MC is established instantly and made relatable and real, and added with the dynamics of her dad and Wes they shine even further! The bond with her father is real and enjoyable and the humor between all the characters especially Wes is great! the way they bounce off each other feels natural and both their personalities are clearly defined. I loved the use of the MC having a hearing aid it adds a layer of depth and helps them stand out and be made even more unique. Her thoughts feelings and troubles with it also add a layer of depth. Really great character work! As a very slight nitpick, occasionally the story felt like it was holding my hand some of the stuff I'd already pieced together was then explained back to me. But, that is such a minor gripe and hardly even noticeable, the story is really impressive and well-written! Well done! : ) "

"Alright, so after reading the first 5 or 6 chapters of Before We Were Strangers, I couldn't help but pause and write a quick review (mostly because I didn’t want to forget later ^^). Now, before you dive into this, I should mention I'm in my mid-20s. Yep, sadly, those teenage years are behind me (cue dramatic sobbing). But here’s the fun part—when I was 8 years old (hence the title Back to 2008), I spent countless hours glued to Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and all those other nostalgia-filled shows. And reading Before We Were Strangers gave me that exact feeling. It’s like time-traveling back to a simpler, carefree period in life. Sid (or “the Cat Woman,” as some cute guy likes to call her—still chuckling over that one, or her other nicknames “Catty” and “Whiney,” which totally reminded me of the movie Coraline xD) is a strong, relatable girl with a broken heart. Her mother left her and her dad for some rich guy (thanks, Miss Mom of Sid, for the abandonment issues...). There’s a little hint in Chapter 5 that the mother had her reasons, but honestly, who leaves their own child? I’m just saying—who does that? But hey, maybe there’s more to it, and I’m not one to judge just yet (but still.. her OWN CHILD....) The vibe of the book is warm and cozy—there’s this great balance of silly, light-hearted moments mixed with just the right amount of seriousness when needed. The pacing was solid. Nothing felt rushed or dragged out. The chapters flowed like the days of the week, and the scene transitions were spot-on, with just enough detail without over-explaining things. It’s a nice, easy read that keeps you engaged without losing you in unnecessary fluff. The only part that has me scratching my head a bit is the dynamic between Sid’s dad and Wes’ (the cute guy, who gave her these nicknames :D) dad. So, Sid’s dad was bullied by Wes’ dad, yet somehow still stays at the guy’s cabin? I mean, I’m only at Chapter 5-6, so I’m sure there’s more to that plot thread later on, but for now, it feels a little odd. Like, how do you go from being bullied to being cabin buddies? Hmm, curious to see how that plays out. All in all, this book is shaping up to be a charming read. It’s like finding an old mixtape from your childhood, with a few emotional tracks thrown in. Perfect for those nostalgic souls who still love a good teen drama, even when they’re past their teenage years. <3"

"Okay, so Before We Were Strangers is honestly the best thing I’ve read on Inkitt so far. The story takes place when Wes and “Catty” AKA Sidney sare 16, and it perfectly captures all the emotions of being young and feeling everything so deeply. It’s about love, friendship, and the kind of bond that you just know will leave a mark on you forever. What really got me was the dynamic between Wes and Catty. Their connection is so real and raw—it’s messy, emotional, and so full of life. They’re teenagers, so of course, they don’t have it all figured out, but watching them grow as individuals and together is honestly inspiring. The way they balance each other out while still challenging one another is something that makes you want to root for them from start to finish. The writing itself is next level. It feels effortless but hits you right in the feels when it needs to. The pacing is perfect—it doesn’t drag, and it doesn’t rush. Every scene feels like it matters, and every bit of dialogue feels authentic. You can actually imagine these characters as real people. The emotions are so well-written that I caught myself tearing up at parts and laughing out loud at others. If I had to suggest one thing, it’d be to stick to one recurring phrase instead of a couple. Innocent And Interesting!!!
"Dear Sarra, Have you ever read a book, where you see yourself identifying with every emotion experienced by the characters? I just went through a torrent of emotions; the pain, the joy, the tears, the laughter. I saw a girl with a disability, bracing the world she finds herself in, with such courage. In spite of her disability, she is courageous and happy. And she brings happiness into the life of Wes. She brings a light into his life. I love your style, it is simple, contemporary and it is engaging. The point of view grabs the attention of the reader and allows the story penetrate into the soul of the reader. I cried, mind you. And I felt every pain of Sidney's. And the innocent connection between the both of them; Wes and Sid, it reminded me of the feeling one gets as a young teenager having butterflies in the belly for the first time. But this is different. It has strength of two young minds, coming together to fight a cruel world of oppression from peers and family, sometimes. And how you showed the pain endured by Sid, due to her mum. It was profound... I love the story. Please don't stop. An interesting read. Continue the great work😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️!!!"

Slow burn teen romances capture the thrill of young love
"The author does an amazing job at conveying the thrill of meeting a new person, of navigating the inner secrets we held as teens and how we choose to reveal that. Both Wes and Sidney have fully fleshed essences that bring them to life and their chemistry is the cornerstone of this story. I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops and how her relationship with her dad grows. It will be interesting to see if she ever forgives her mom! A fun read.
"Good writing--check. Tickling humor--check. Adorable characters--check. The first few chapters of Before We Were Strangers posted so far are a fun read. The prologues, according to me, are sweet but an overkill. Why? Romances are (usually) predictable per se. But the prologues establish beforehand the MCs still have strong feelings for each other yet have parted ways. Why? Undisclosed so far. Then, from Chapter 1, we go back to the beginning when they met, and I assume they will fall for each other as the story progresses. Just a suggestion: Maybe starting from the beginning (the MCs meeting) will leave a sense of anticipation, and their parting ways become the big twist (maybe why they parted will be the twist along with if they get back together.). But that's my opinion. Having said that, I would still highly recommend it to those who enjoy sweet romances, and adorable characters! "
