Foreword
‘My family is my pride…’
People hear that over and over again, this being especially noted to one influential man of his century.
Augustus Minzache.
That was what they said if you will. I had the goodest fortune to have flourished my work as a local hotel’s bellboy to where I am now, a living business legend. The same can be said to my beautiful wife, Guinevere Adean-Minzache. The lady can never grow old with how spontaneous and borderline challenging her job is, I can’t pry her away from it. She’s a top-of-the-line lawyer with her own firm under her, ruling with an iron-fist and a caring heart, just how I’d love her.
My family is also not something to belittle.
From the business I grew to getting hand-down to my children to them spreading their wings to create more of their passion, the family tree is ever growing to the outside world. And what do these kids tell me in thanks?
That I’m an old meddlesome man! Hah! Those little pricks really.
They are really lucky that I love them, if not how can they’ve found the love of their lives? I tell them to let them grow their career and plant their roots with someone else–I marriage and commitment so trivial matters now? Granted, my four sons have done their duty in my request–albeit under my guidance, but they haven’t gone to spread these wonderful words to my grandkids!
Nicholas and my first dearest daughter-in-law, Helen have given me three gracious grandkids. Theodore, Nicholas’ fraternal twin, was also married to Gwendolyn, their bright-minds producing two more little stars. My middle-child son, albeit different and unique, had adopted two beautiful children that I treat like my own blood. Then lastly, my youngest who had given me the honor of having another grandchild to our line.
Nicholas had ushered the oldest of his kids, the loving and spontaneous, Charlotte to marry a fine man. And the middle son, cold and nitpicky, Chevylou got engaged some time ago thanks to my help. But the harshest task had dawn upon me at some point. The steel-hearted and workaholic woman is his granddaughter, Cheshilene Elowyn Minzache.
The girl is stubborn and rarely went to social events unless obligated–children nowadays.
She’s an eligible bachelorette for her age, but not a single speck of romance in her life, only papers and work. I admire her talent and work, but my lovely granddaughter should go off and find someone, now would be preferable.
I’ve got my hands full now with this little gem.
Maybe I should call the number of my good friend from way back and see if we can find an eligible lad for my princess?
