Chapter 1
My name is Violet Lourina and it is the first day of 6th grade for me! I am waiting by the front door of my school, SunnyVille Elementary for someone special. Oh, and my twin brother, Voice, is with me as well! I managed to convince him to stay for this long!
Well, the minutes tick by and Voice gives up waiting and storms off to his first classroom. If only he waited a few moments longer, because here comes somebody! That somebody is a pale-skinned figure wearing all black with thick, golden hair sticking out of an enormous sun hat and also wearing big sun glasses. If you were here, you’d see the mounds of sunblock oozing down his arms. It’s the most ridiculous thing ever, and yet... This is David Batt, the boy I have known since I was five years old.
David shakes his head and his sun hat flies off and onto Cristafur's head as he walks by. Cristafur Floros is another friend of mine, one that is very easily frightened.
"Ahhhh!" he screams, frightened by the mysterious hat.
David's sunglasses slip down the bridge of his nose to reveal his sparkling blue eyes.
"Sorry, Violet! I'm not used to this much sun yet," David says.
I never get his jokes, especially since it's just getting bright outside.
Anyhow, I might as well introduce you to my class! My class consists of nine kids altogether as it is a rather small school. I can name everybody too because we’re all friends from 5th grade. There is my brother, Voice Lourina, Ashely and Austie Marlow, Becky and Boston Martel, Cassy and Christafur Floros, David Batt, and I.
Here in SunnyVille, a lot of people have colorful hair. There are quite a few different colors of hair represented in my class alone! I have violet red hair, Voice has hot pink hair, Ashely has red violet hair, Austie has chestnut hair, Becky has light green hair, Boston has fern green hair, Cassy has sea green hair, Christafur has brown hair, and as I mentioned earlier, David has golden blonde hair.
A few interesting facts about some of my classmates, Voice doesn’t talk much, Ashely asks tons of questions all the time, Boston is the brainiac of the class, Christafur is scared of everything (Though he seems especially afraid of David, for some reason...), and David is the only kid in class without a twin! Though, I must say, I find it very interesting that his last name is Batt.
