Rina’s eyes, however, never wavered. They bore into him with a strength that belied the fear she must have felt. “I knew you would ask for something in return,” she said, her voice steady and defiant. “This is why you will never be half the man he is.”
The moment Ryan’s eyes flickered with hurt, she knew she had struck a nerve, and a grim satisfaction settled within her. But before she could savor it, his hand flew to her neck, yanking her towards him with a force that made her gasp. “Who is it gonna be?” he hissed, his breath hot against her face. “Will you choose him or our son?”
He had her back, and he would stop at nothing to keep her, even if it meant embracing the monster he had tried to leave behind.
