Author's pov -

Osman Siddiqui was very rich not only in money but also in heart. He loved helping people a lot. People of the village loved him a lot due to his generosity. Osman Siddiqui was a very big landlord, he had most of the land in the village.

Osman Siddiqui had 3 sons. The eldest son's name was Azhar Siddiqui, the second son's name was Hussain Siddiqui and the third son's name was Farooq Siddiqui.

The three sons completed their studies from the big universities of the city. Osman Siddiqui himself was an educated man but he loved his village and his land very much. He spent his life looking after his lands and helping the people of his village.

With time, Osman Siddiqui's age started increasing and his responsibilities were now taken over by his sons and along with this, his sons also started their own business in which they became successful very soon.

Osman Siddiqui got his three sons married. First Azhar Siddiqui got married. One year after his marriage, he had a son {Zaid Siddiqui}. Then Hussain Siddiqui got married, two years after his marriage, Farooq Siddiqui got married and two years after his marriage, he had a daughter {Huma Siddiqui}. But Hussain Siddiqui did not have any children till now.

Hussain Siddiqui and his wife used to pray to Allah with tears that they too should get a child. After 7 years of prayers and patience, Allah blessed them with the happiness of having a child.

Everything was going well but at the time of delivery Hussain Siddiqui's wife's health became very bad. They had a daughter {Ayeza Siddiqui} but a few minutes after Ayeza's birth, Hussain Siddiqui's wife died. Hussain Siddiqui got happiness but along with it he also got a great sorrow for life time.

The next day after Fajr, when he came home after praying his wife's namaz e janaza, he saw that his daughter was crying a lot.

His mother and other women of the house were sitting there but no one paid attention to Ayeza. Hussain went near Ayeza and started to silence her by taking her to his arms.

Seeing Ayeza crying, Hussain's mother started saying -

"Kaisi manhus ladki hai paida hote hi apni maa ko kha gayi thi aur ab ro ro kar hamare ghar me manhusiyat faila rahi hai"

After hearing this Husain Siddiqui said -

"Ye aap kaisi baatein kar rahi hai ammi? Is sab me is bachi ki kya galti hai? Ye to abhi masoom hai aur jo kuch bhi hua Allah ki marzi se hua"

Hussain's mother ignored his words and went to her room. Husain also brought his daughter to his room.

One week had passed but Ayeza's grandmother had never even took her in arms nor loved her. The rest of the people in the house also thought the same. But Osman Siddiqui was not like that. He loved Ayeza very much. And he spent most of his time with Ayeza.

Time was passing but there was no change in Ayeza's grandmother's behaviour. Ayeza's aunts also use to say bitter things, and due to this reason Huma also started disliking Ayeza. If Ayeza came to play with Huma, she would chase her away, sometimes by biting her and sometimes by hitting her.

But Zaid was different from all these people, he always talked lovingly to Ayeza. He always took care of Ayeza. Zaid was 8 years older than Ayeza but he had a very good friendship with her.

Sometimes Zaid would make Ayeza sit on the back seat of his cycle and roam outside for a long time, and sometimes he would bring ice cream or chocolates for her. Ayeza was also get attached with him, she used to do her homework with him.

Ayeza was 11 years old when her grandfather passed away. There were only three people in Ayeza's life who made her feel a sense of belonging. Her Baba Jaan, Zaid and her grandfather. And today she has lost her grandfather.
