Chapter 1 Adelaide Pov
Prologue
There were two main wolf packs that each shared a mountain together. The mountain was covered with plenty of wildlife for the wolves to eat. It also had a stream that ran right down the middle. Where each pack could come drink water. The moonlight pack and the blood moon pack. The moonlight pack consisted of strong wolves but most only had physical strength and no magical powers. The blood moon pack was the opposite. Most lacked physical strength but were stilled wizards in addition to being part wolf. Even more rare were the wolves that were vampire/wolf hybrids.
Alpha of the Moonlight pack was Jared. Strong, beautiful blue eyes, shoulder length blonde hair. He was a black belt in martial arts and he never lost in a fight. He doesn’t show mercy to his enemies.
Alpha of the blood moon pack was Tommy. A rare combination of vampire, wolf and wizard. He had emerald green eyes and long black hair. He can drain his enemies blood in seconds. He can also hit you with any spell from over 50 feet away.
Chapter 1
Adelaide Pov
I wasn’t keen on just marrying Brad. I am not familiar with anyone else from the moonlight pack, but he isn’t the greatest boyfriend. He was always looking at other girls and acts like he’s just going through the motions with me. I think he only wants me for my powers which have not come in yet for some reason. My mom tells me that supposedly I can heal anyone or anything even if they are on the brink of death. It doesn’t matter if they are wolf or not. I also have the rare ability to cast spells and breath fire like a dragon. I don’t know if I believe that though.
It was a quiet day today. I was just getting dressed and cleaning my room. There was a knock at the door as I was just getting finished. “Hi mom what do you need?” “Your boyfriend had the chef make a yummy breakfast for you. Why don’t you go join him?” “Ok mom, love you.” “Love you too sweetie.”
I left the room and locked the door. Then I headed downstairs for breakfast. Brad greeted me with a kiss. “Please sit.” he said. I was waiting for him to pull out the chair for me like a gentleman, but he was too busy checking out the maid. I sat down and rolled my eyes in disgust.
I hit his arm to get his attention. “You can pay attention to me instead.” “Don’t be jealous.” He said caressing my chin. “You should count yourself lucky that you are with me.
I pulled away from him and grabbed a piece of bacon. “I hope you like breakfast miss Adelaide.” “Yes it’s very yummy. Thank you chef.” I cut up my pancakes next. They had fresh maple syrup on them that’s collected right on the mountain.
Brad was eating but kept watching the maids and she wolves whenever he could. “Ok thanks for breakfast but I’m leaving.” I said coldly as I got up from the table. He grabbed me by the arm. “You are so ungrateful. You won’t give me a kiss or anything after the nice breakfast I gave you.”
I leaned towards him to give a quick peck on the cheek but he pulled himself into me and stuck his tongue in my mouth. I pushed him away. “Get off me and leave me alone. He tried to come after me but chef Andre stood in his way. “That’s no way to treat a lady. Go cool off.”
Brad stormed off somewhere. “Thank you Andre.” He took my hand and kissed it. “Anything for you, you can do so much better than him.” “I don’t know what to do anymore.” I said letting out a sigh. “Well I’m here if you need me.” He headed into the kitchen and I disappeared into my room.
I didn’t know what to do about Brad, but I sure didn’t want to marry him. I caught him cheating on me multiple times. My parents however want us to be together for the money. No one else will be with me. My powers have not come in so I’m useless. I’d love a strong alpha to sweep me off my feet but that will never happen. The only thing I have going for me is I think I’m a little pretty. At least I hope I am.
A open my book about fairytale romance. It always goes the same in these books. Pretty girl falls in love with a hot guy. The guy does everything to protect her and there is a happy ending.
I read for a while then I shut my book and curl up underneath my covers. I have nothing to do today so I might as well take a nap. Maybe I’ll dream about the hot alpha. Like he will ever notice me.
