Background:

In 2008, Rafael worked as an undercover agent, dedicated to dismantling human trafficking rings. His latest target was a particularly elusive revenant running a notorious operation in Mexico. Driven by a sense of justice and a personal vendetta, Rafael infiltrated the ring and successfully killed the revenant. However, this victory was short-lived. The revenant’s sire, a powerful 9th generation vampire, was enraged and sought to make an example out of Rafael.

Just as Rafael was about to meet his end, Contessa Valeria intervened. She had been monitoring the revenant’s activities and was immediately captivated by the scent of Rafael’s unique blood. Recognizing its potential to stave off the Beckoning, she saw more value in keeping Rafael alive. Instead of a swift death, Rafael became a blood bag ghoul, bound to Valeria and kept alive purely for the sustenance his rare blood provided.

For two years, Rafael lived in a state of limbo, neither fully alive nor dead, serving Valeria’s needs. During this time, an intense and complex relationship developed between them. Valeria’s initial fascination with his blood transformed into a deeper, mutual addiction. She needed his blood to maintain her sanity and vitality, while Rafael, caught between fear and fascination, found himself drawn to her power and the dark allure of her world.

One night, driven by a blood frenzy, Valeria nearly drained Rafael to the point of death. Terrified by the thought of losing her prized blood doll, she made a desperate decision. She embraced Rafael, transforming him into a 10th generation vampire. This act bound them even closer, as the embrace solidified their bond not only through blood but also through a shared dependency. Rafael’s transformation ensured that Valeria would always have access to his life-sustaining blood, while he gained power, immortality, and a place by her side.
