"I love all of the characters (yes, even Hades, although I’m not proud of that). They’re all so unique and well-rounded, and the dialogue is realistic but funny and refreshing. The plot is gorgeous (I’m a slut for the crazy & overprotective parent and innocent/sheltered child trope, especially when it’s Hades). It’s a little bit less mythology-based than Rotty’s previous books, which makes me a little sad, but I agree that it was time for a new setting and new characters. There’s still plenty of mythology for those mythology-lovers, just not as much as in the earlier Underworld Chronicles. I can’t think of a single flaw (I’m sure they’re there, but few and far between). I haven’t been able to put it down since I picked it up. I kept putting off this series because it seemed so dauntingly huge, but I finally decided to invest my time and it’s 100% worth it. If you’re on the fence about it then this is your sign: READ THIS SERIES ASAP"
