Summary

For as long as I can remember, Serenity has been my only friend, the one that I can count on for anything. As opposite as she is to me, we get along like sisters. I always feel like there something missing in my life, but when she’s around, nothing else matters. We laugh, sing around my apartment, dance the night away at clubs but most of all, cry when neither of us quite understand the world around us. Every full moon, I feel this ache in my heart that I’m missing out on something, someone and while I’m in my own skin, I feel that yearning to run for the woods, go to the garden when my mind isn’t clear or take in the summers floral air. Had I known what I know now, I would have jumped head first at the first slightest clue at what world was around me. Watching.

Chapter 1

Serenity was her usual self, full of laughter and ready to throw down a few cold drinks. I’d never understood how she could be so carefree, reckless and downright foolish but she was my best friend and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. I on the other hand was always questioning everything I did, analyzing each and every movement I made. I hated the thought of sleeping with some random stranger after a full night on the town. It just wasn’t my style. I’d much rather be cozy with a bowl of popcorn watching who knows what on tv. Most of the time, it was channel surfing but it was just what I enjoyed. I’d have my cup of Joe and it was bliss. But tonight, tonight changed everything. From the moment we hit the dance floor, I felt as though someone was watching me, lingering in and out of the crowd, waiting for that perfect moment to strike. As Serenity grabbed us another round of shots from the bar, a hint of vanilla and musk filled the air. It was intoxicating to the point my mind was on edge and spinning. As the crowd seemed to fade into the darkness, a tall muscular figure darted closer and closer then everything went blank.

All I can remember was darkness, no images from the night before, no matter how hard I tried to reimagine just how I ended up in this room. Nicely decorated with crisp white linens, fluffy clouds intertwined my body. To my wandering eyes, there he stood.

Who knew waking up in a cloud of blankets would be the start of an awakening like none other. As I scanned the room, there stood the image i now remember from last night. This tall muscular man now towering over me. “Dameon, and you are?” The tall figure replies. “Where the hell am I?” I ordered. Where did that come from. This is not like me. I am not rude, but shy and definitely not loud. Dameon just stares. As the heat between us continues to create a thick almost weighted feeling, i respond again. “Sir, I mean Dameon, hello I’m Merisa. I dont know what’s come over me. Would you be so kind as to acknowledge where i might be and how I got here?”

Dameon still just stood there. Intrigued by the man in front of me, i couldnt help but imagine a life with him. Touching those firm, sculpted forearms, sliding my body against his, taking in the scent of pure erotic raw juices. Jeez, Merida, snap out of it. You dont even know who this man is and you’re over here picturing him ravishing you over and over. What the hell has gotten into you. Your mind is twisted in ways you can’t comprehend. The only thoughts you have is ripping his clothes off and riding him til ecstasy.

Just as you thought it couldnt get any worse, Dameon somehow notices just what thoughts are playing out in your head. “You’ll have to excuse me, i have some things to attend to.” Just as I was about to open my mouth, Dameon had vanished and was no where to be found. I darted after him but to my surprise the bedroom even in all its glory and beauty, was locked. Who the hell does he think he is locking me inside. Who is this man? And how on earth did I get here? Much more, why was he something i wanted more of. His smell, to feel his touch, would he touch me, do I even ask? Most importantly, how can I still smell him?

I reluctantly refrain from panicking as I move to the windows. Peeking out onto the grounds, I notice a waterfall with beautiful greenary, flowers as far as the eye can see. Tucked away in thr corner was a metal gazebo with green vines, morning glories stretching here and there and what appears to be a small twinkle of a light. For a moment i could swear I see a figure pass over the only window to the gazebo. I immediately gasp for air and hurry from the window. Thinking to myself, “Was someone out there and did they see me staring?”

As beautiful as the aurrounds are and as much as i almost feel at home, I can’t understand why I’m here, how I got here and who the mystery Dameon is.
