Chapter 1: The Calling
Lina had always felt a peculiar connection to the forest near her home. Nestled in a quaint village at the edge of an ancient woodland, she often found herself drawn to its depths. As a child, she would wander beneath the towering trees, listening to the rustling leaves and the distant calls of unseen creatures. It was a place of magic and mystery, where time seemed to stand still and the ordinary rules of the world no longer applied.
Now, at eighteen, Lina’s bond with the forest had only deepened. She had grown into a graceful young woman, with long chestnut hair and eyes the color of moss. Her love for the woods was matched only by her curiosity about the secrets they held. Every day, she explored a little further, venturing into places she had never dared to go before.
One crisp autumn morning, Lina awoke with a start. She had dreamt of the forest again, but this time it was different. In her dream, she had heard a song—a haunting, beautiful melody that seemed to emanate from the very heart of the woods. It called to her, filling her with an overwhelming sense of longing. Unable to resist, Lina dressed quickly and set off for the forest. The sun had just begun to rise, casting a golden glow over the trees. As she walked, she could still hear the echo of the song in her mind, guiding her deeper into the woods than she had ever gone before. The path grew narrower and the trees thicker, but Lina pressed on. She felt as if an invisible hand was leading her, urging her forward.
Finally, she emerged into a small clearing bathed in sunlight. In the center stood an ancient oak tree, its gnarled branches stretching towards the sky. At its base lay a stone altar, covered in intricate carvings. Lina approached the altar, her heart pounding. As she reached out to touch it, the air around her seemed to shimmer, and the song grew louder. She closed her eyes, letting the music wash over her. When she opened them again, she found herself standing in a different place entirely.
