0. Another Life?
It was one of those bright, peaceful days when the accident happened.
I was sitting in the back seat of the car, watching the world pass by through the window, immersed in the calm that only a day like this could offer. The sun's rays warmed the road, flanked by lush green meadows that stretched toward distant hills, with majestic mountains rising on the horizon. The sky, a deep and clear blue, was dotted with fluffy white clouds drifting lazily by. Inside the car, my parents' laughter and the hum of our conversations filled the cabin with a sense of warmth and safety. It felt as if the entire world had paused in a moment of perfect harmony, and life flowed effortlessly.
But then, in an instant, everything changed.
A deafening roar shattered the tranquility, and the car was struck with a force so immense that time itself seemed to fracture along with the glass and metal. The sudden impact sent shockwaves of pain through my body, and the familiar daylight was swallowed by an unbearable brilliance. As the car spun wildly in a chaotic vortex, the peaceful world from moments before dissolved into a maelstrom of confusion and terror.
No thoughts crossed my mind at that moment. I couldn't do anything. I was... totally powerless.
Amidst the disorienting chaos, as pain and brightness merged into one overpowering sensation, I was engulfed by complete darkness. Every physical sense—sight, hearing, touch—dissolved, leaving me suspended in an infinite void.
It was as if the very concept of existence had been erased, and I was left floating in a boundless space where time and reality no longer held any meaning. In that vast, endless emptiness, I sensed the presence of two luminous essences, fluid forms of energy drifting through the cosmic expanse. Their ethereal forms seemed to dance with a slow, hypnotic rhythm, drawing near and pulling away in a continuous cycle of creation and dissolution.
These shimmering forms radiated a subtle glow, casting ripples of illumination and shadow that wove together into a tapestry of brilliance and darkness. It was like witnessing a cosmic ballet, an eternal intertwining of opposing forces perfectly balanced in harmony, a reflection of the universe's deepest mysteries.
Suddenly, an intense radiance pierced through the darkness, filling every corner of the void with its blinding glare. This glowing burst seemed to consume everything, erasing all traces of the shadows. Gradually, as the brilliance began to fade, the harsh brightness gave way to a new vision, revealing an unfamiliar place taking shape around me. Faces and voices I had never encountered before started to come into focus. I couldn't understand anything they were saying, and as soon as I tried to get up, a profound realization slowly dawned on me.
I was a baby. And with that realization, the truth settled in with a clarity that was almost painful.
I had been reincarnated.
