Hoping for a sequel
"Well written, especially accounting for dialect usage. Definitely sexy but leans towards the romance even in forced scenarios, aside from one at the end. I hate the ending leaves us without closure but I suppose that gives space and a strong indication of a sequel... One can hope! "

"I really loved this erotic pirate novella! Isla and Ebon are a perfect match. I only wished there was a bonus epilogue with their reunion, but I get why it was left so open-ended. If you’re looking for something well written, captivating and with a decent amount of spice, give this a shot. Be forewarned there is brief SA, but I believe that’s mentioned beforehand by the author "
A thrilling read

My experience was that the lead characters could each be a little frustrating in their own ways, so it's clear that their personalities shine through, at the very least. I was especially pleased with the ending, which ties things up nicely despite its twists."

"I've read this story many times now and each time I come away with: This was a remarkable ride from start to finish. It has an intense start that leaves you wondering just what kind of trouble Isla has gotten herself into and how far will Captain Ebon go to mete out a fitting punishment for her? As the plot unfolds, some light shines through the darkness and ultimately you're left with a passion-filled action adventure story that is high on spice, development, plot and punctuation. All in all, this is a great read for those looking to spend an hour or so with their heart racing, whether from fear or arousal will largely depend on the chapter, but there are points when both get your heart pumping within a few lines of each other. I know many have wished for a continuation of this one, but I have to say I absolutely loved the ending and felt it was the kind of finale that seemed right for the characters and sometimes that's simply more important than spelling out where the heroine and her love interest truly end up, because it's a pirate's life and statistically speaking, pirates seldom end their seafaring ways happily retired and raising a family together. A great read, and one I have recommended repeatedly already!"

"I really enjoyed this book. Loved the concept of mixing magic and pirates, really enjoyed the chemistry between the two main protagonists, and the plot was incredibly captivating. My only bit of critique (and it's not even a critique) is that I wish it were longer, just so I could enjoy their story for an extended period of time ♥ Hoping for a sequel!"

Swashbuckler with a twist
"Five stars. The female protagonist is vulnerable, but never simpering or weak. As far as humans go, she's quite strong, but in this case she's up against the supernatural. The male lead is sexually driven, but it never reads as "just sex". There's clearly romance underlying even the raunchiest scenes. All of the tropes that you'd hope for from a pirate-themed romance can be neatly checked off, and it avoids the severe dialect issues that can put off some people from reading in this genre. "

"Mmm. Definitely spicy, and really good! Could be longer, more detailed about FMC background because I love details. But it also does really well as is if you’re looking for a quick read. That ending? I always want more, but from author’s comments, I can accept it as is. "
