Saving Kim
"The monsters were never under my bed.
Because the monsters were inside my head.
I fear no monsters, for no monsters I see.
Because all this time the monster has been me."
This was most definitely the worst idea that I ever agreed to…
It was September 3rd the world around me was starting to crack through the snow and awake into fresh spring. It was also Star Cross high school’s spring night party. According to the seniors, crazy stuff happens at the Star Cross spring night party; people have been known to go missing.
The air was crisp with a soft wind wrapping around me like a blanket. The night sky was a midnight blue speckled with dust like stars. We heard kids screaming and laughing. Lanterns lit up the pebbled stone path leading up to the edge of the heavy wooded forest. Beer bottles ruined what would be a beautiful site.
I strode over to the bonfire where kids from my class were sitting in camp chairs or on logs they had found drinking and laughing like they had just heard the funniest thing in the world.
“HELP, HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE” a female voice screams in terror from the forest out runs . It was Olive. She had current red wild free hair and bright blue eyes and a face full of freckles. “HELP ME KIM, SHE, SHE WENT INTO.”
As soon as I heard Kim’s name I sprinted up to her “ Hey, what to Kim” I asked worried Kim was my best friend. A whirlwind of thoughts rushed through “ W-we went into the woods to make out, we heard a branch snap and she went to go look at what it was and “ she stopped thinking looking like she was about to cry, I rubbed her back not wanting to push her “I heard a scream I went to look for Kim, there was blood oh so much blood but no Kim, she disappeared.” Olive finally said
I don’t know what I was thinking but I jumped up and shot towards the woods tears falling down my face. This can’t be true “KIM” I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was moving so fast that I felt like I was flying. Everything around me became a blur.
I needed to find Kim. She couldn’t be gone.
“KIM” my steps slowed down. I found myself at a fork in the path. Where am I? Where do I go? Where’s Kim? Is she safe?
My breath heaves as I stand there lost not knowing what to do. What path to take. All my thoughts are about Kim’s safety “KIM” I scream, my voice becoming hoarse from all the screaming I’m doing. “Alex” a voice says sounding like its coming from far away making it sound like a whisper “KIM IS THAT YOU” I scream
"Help" she whispered to me...
