My First Crush

"I want to see him! Will I be able to see him if I go out?" Sitting quietly in her room, her heart raced as she heard the faint creak of the door opening next door—her crush's door—just as she had been anxiously waiting for. She rushed outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but instead, she found his aunt. Disappointed, she went to the store to grab something to eat. Losing the chance to see him today, she returned home with a dejected expression.

“What happened?” her brother asked, noticing her downcast mood. She looked at him with annoyance and ignored his question. “Arghh! Why is it so difficult for me to see his face?” she muttered in frustration as she began looking through her books.

While reading, she eventually fell asleep and dreamt of the first time she saw her crush. In her dream, she was outside her apartment with her best friend when two guys came out of the main door. One of them was unfamiliar, carrying a stack of books. When one of the books fell, Seeya helped pick it up. He gave her a soft smile, and Seeya found herself gazing at him. The other guy asked her to excuse them, and Seeya continued to wonder about the unfamiliar guy. She asked her friend about him and learned that he lived next door. From that day on, she kept coming out every time she heard the door open in the adjacent apartment.

"I really like him, but I wonder if this guy knows about me,” she asked to her friend. "He might know you because you are popular," her friend responded. "Not again with that thing, I don’t know why do you always say that,” Seeya sighed. She has a masculine personality, easily gets along with guys. “Call Brandon. Let’s go out to grab something to eat,” Seeya said to her best friend. Brandon, one of her close friends, often hangs out with Seeya, and she thinks of him as a younger brother.

As they headed out, they passed a group of guys standing together: Haru, Sohil, Nemis, and David. Seeya knew all of them, but her relationship with Haru wasn’t great. Haru glanced at Seeya, ignored her, and then shouted, “Daniel!” Seeya felt a chill run down her spine at the mention of her crush’s name. From the balcony, Daniel called back,“What?!” Haru asked Daniel and his brother, Rohil, to join their group for their school project. Daniel agreed and invited everyone to his apartment. Nemis, friend of Haru, called out to Brandon. When Brandon looked their way, Nemis smirked and asked, “Is something going on between you two?” referring to Seeya and Brandon. Seeya overheard the comment and quickly pulled Brandon in front of Nemis, wrapping her arm around his neck. “He’s my younger brother! Don’t even think about mocking him!” she said annoyingly. Nemis laughed, “You actually believe that?” Seeya, confused, asked, “What are you talking about?” Just as Nemis was about to explain, David grabbed him and pulled him away, heading toward Daniel’s place. From a distance, David shouted an apology to Seeya. She and Brandon stood there, watching the group of four as they walked away. “A bunch of stupid people, they are,” Seeya murmured.

She didn’t take the incident seriously, except for the fact that her crush’s name was mentioned. She felt shy while eating her food. Freya laughed at her behavior, while Brandon looked quite concerned. “Why do you always look like you're about to start a fight?” Brandon asked Seeya. “What do you mean? You’re not talking about the conversation I had with Nemis, are you?” Seeya asked. Brandon nodded. “Yes, I am. Last time you fought with Haru, not to mention Osem.” “Now that you’ve mentioned Osem, did you do something wrong? Why does he always pick a fight with you every time he sees you?” Freya asked Seeya. “I don’t know why he hates me,” Seeya replied. “I do have conflicts with Haru, but I don’t want to get involved with Osem. He looks like a delinquent.” Seeya sighed. Freya looked at Brandon and asked, “Aren’t you close to him? Why don’t you ask him about it?” Brandon smiled uneasily. Seeya rolled her eyes as they were talking about Osem. When they returned, someone called Brandon. Seeya knew who it was, so she didn’t turn around and just walked away. One of Osem’s friends ran in front of Seeya and said, “Can’t you hear he’s calling you?” Seeya responded with an annoyed laugh, “Wow! Now my name is Brandon?” She glanced at Osem and then turned away. When Osem’s friend tried to stop Seeya, Osem intervened.

Seeya returned to her place as her mood got spoiled after seeing Osem. Seeya couldn’t shake off her thoughts about Osem. "Ugh! My head hurts! I just can’t figure out why he hates me, "she muttered in frustration. "I don’t even care if he hates me, but he keeps bothering me every time he sees me, and it’s so annoying." Trying to shift her focus, she decided to study, only to realize she had forgotten one of her textbooks at school. A sly smirk crossed her face as she made her way to the neighbour+ next door.

*Knock, knock.* Daniel opened the door, and Seeya immediately blushed. Her words fumbled, her nerves getting the best of her. Just as she was about to speak, a hand appeared at the doorframe, followed by a manly voice. "Who is it, Daniel?" Haru stepped forward. "Oh, Chibi, it’s you. What do you need? Daniel’s attention?" Seeya closed her eyes and took a deep breath to steady herself. "Rohil!" she called out. Rohil appeared, and she asked if he had the textbook that she wanted. He nodded and went to get the book. Haru held the book. “Don’t try to seduce my people," he said mockingly, tossing the book to her. Seeya, flustered and irritated, tried to respond. "Just what the heck are you trying to—" Before she could finish, Haru slammed the door in her face. She stood there, staring at the closed door in disbelief. "I don’t understand what’s wrong with these people. The only decent person around here is Rohil," she muttered, talking to herself as she walked away in frustration.

Rohil and Seeya have known each other from 1 year. He has a kind personality, would always look after people.

On the other side, Brandon and Osem gets along pretty well. While they were chilling together, one of their friends turned to Brandon and asked hesitantly, “Seeya’s reputation with the guys... it’s kind of bad. Don’t you ever say anything to her about it?” Before Brandon could respond, Osem cut in sharply. "Who said that? Do you want to die?" His tone was threatening, and the friend’s voice wavered with fear as he replied, “W-we hear it a lot.” Osem shot back immediately, "No one talks about her like that unless they want to die. Got it? I don’t want to hear anyone mention her name." Then, turning to Brandon with a hard gaze, Osem added, "And don’t get too close to her." “I already am!!” Brandon shot back defiantly. Osem's eyes narrowed as he smirked, a sharp edge to his voice. “She sees you as her younger brother, don’t get too excited about it.” Brandon fell silent, the weight of Osem's words sinking in. Before either of them could say more, David called out their names from a distance, waving enthusiastically. Brandon forced a smile, calling back to him, “Hey, David!” With that, Brandon and David walked off together, leaving Osem standing there with his smirk still lingering. Osem turned to one of his friends and casually said, “Keep an eye on Daniel for me.” As his friend nodded, Osem muttered under his breath, “What does she even see in him? He looks like a complete jerk to me.”

The next day, after Seeya returned from school, she spoke to Freya and Brandon about confessing her love to Daniel. Freya was supportive and quickly began helping Seeya form a plan. Since Seeya knew she’d struggle to speak in front of Daniel, she decided to write a letter confessing her love on a piece of paper instead. Brandon, on the other hand, didn’t want Seeya to confess, but he kept his thoughts to himself. Seeya waited eagerly for Daniel to return from his school, but he didn’t show up. Disheartened, she started walking back toward her apartment, while Brandon, noticing her disappointment, couldn’t help but feel secretly relieved.

As Seeya climbed the stairs, she heard a voice ask, “Why do you look so down?” She looked up and saw Daniel standing there. Letting out a sigh of relief, she smiled and handed him the note. Daniel smiled back and took it, but as he reached the door, he paused to read it. Peeking from the side of the stairs, Seeya anxiously waited for his response. “Are you still there?” Daniel asked, his voice cutting through the silence. "Yes," Seeya replied, her heart racing.

Daniel grinned and said, “I like you too!”

Overwhelmed with joy, Seeya dashed back to her room, her heart pounding with excitement, she leapt onto her bed, and buried her face into the cushion, trying to muffle the excited scream that was escaping from her.
