Chapter 1
The station buzzed with the chatters of people. Men and women who were boarding the train and their families which bid them good byes. In middle of the cluster of people a young girl, standing alone, was looking around. Her sharp, siren eyes seemed to take in every detail of the train station.
But in reality, her light blue orbs were finding one particular person. The girl had long blonde hair, hanging down her waost in a high ponytail. A soldier suit, fitted perfectly around her slim body. The black leather high boots added to her already powerful aura.
Her face was covered with a black mask yet her eyes were enough to show her beauty. One bag hung on her shoulder while a smaller one was held in her hand. Her eyes fell on a man standing a little far from her.
He was desperately trying to get on the train, his faced twisted in annoyance yet his handsome features were still admirable. The honey tanned skin, the silky long hair that fell on his forehead. His whole face and body was defination of perfection but his eyes were the most unique feature he had. One was single lid other was monolid.
A serious expression rested on his face while an annoyed frown covered his forehead. The uniform felt tight against his upper arm as if it was having a fight against his biceps. The frown on his forehead started to relax a bit as the crowd cleared.
He and his friend were finally able to find their way in the train. The girl in military uniform with the badge showing her name, ava onic, made her way behind the two soldier.
Leitunant colonel oria malf and captain velocef lacer found thier seats and dropped themselves on it.
As they relaxed thier bodies a little taking deep breaths, a girl called out to them,"excuse me?" Thier eyes shot open as they looked at the girl infront of them, wearing a military uniform, her military badges showed she was major ranked.
Oria said,"you must be the new major joining us as the second in command. I am leitunant colonel oria first in command and this is captain velocef lacer third in command." He extended his hand which ava took in a firm hand shake, "major ava onic."
Her voice was cold, void of any emotions, it send shivers down the spines of two men. Velocef broke the silence,"have a seat please." Ava nod her head slightly before taking her seat opposite the two men.
Oria roamed his eyes on her face taking in the beauty of her eyes. His eyes stopped at the moment her eyes met his, he was lost in the moment. Velocef seeing the awkward silence nudged oria's arm making him come back to world. Oria asked,"may i have a look at your info file?"
Without a word, ava brought put a blue file handing it to oria. Taking the file, he opened and went through her information. The file containing all her information including her family, her marital status, as well as her education background.
Oria questioned her,"your education shows you have done phd in AI. You joined military 7 years ago at the age of 17, how did you do your phd? Did you study amidst military training too?"
Ava looked in his eyes,"no sir i did my phd when i was 17, i was an exceptional student." Oria nodded his head, understanding the detail. He further asked,"you joined military after phd and have been a part of it for 7 years then why are still a major? According to the file your ability is way more then a major rank?"
Ava sighed,"sir i have been offered promotions multiple times but i refused as i didnt want them. I have personal reasons for refusing. I am looking forward to working under you."
Oria just gave a slight nod. Not another word was uttered by ava the whole way. This made both the soldiers realized that she liked to be quiet. Velosef was quite amazed at her reserved personalities but oria felt something else. The wild creatures bonded in his ribcage was going crazy.
He couldn't name the feeling but one thing was for sure, he didn't want this feeling to go away.
In about five hours the train came to a halt. All three of them took thier luggage before getting off the train. As they exited the station, a man came up to them.
He was all buffled up. Well trained body, his biceps giving a hard time to the uniform and abs peaking out of the shirt. Though any girl would drool over his body but ava's gaze was fized on his face.
A face she could never forget, it was still the same as 17 years ago. The doe eyes which held the universe in them, ava's universe. He was standing infront of him,so close yet so far. The boy she last met when he was 5, she still remembered the last day she met him.
17 years ago how he was crying, covered in black and purple bruises, begging everyone to let him be with her, his sister. How he held her hand and wasn't letting go despite the two men pulling him away. How she was crying, blood dripping from her whole body yet still, her sole mission was to not let go of her brother.
Ava spend her whole life 17 years, suffering, being tortured, just to find him, her baby brother. Today after 10 years, she again felt emotions. After ten years, she felt tears fill her eyes. Seeing the young 5 year old boy now standing infront of her as a grown up man, in a military uniform, send a wave of emotions in her body.
He couldn't recodnize her, how could he, she had changed alot. The once weak girl, was now a military major. Her once soft eyes now held only darkness, and emptiness. The chubby girl, now had the perfect body, every girl would envy.
Ava's chain of thoughts broke as her brother extended his hand towards her,"captain theodore evans, head of the shooting department." Ava forwarded her hand and shook his. Her usually strong grip was now weak and soft as if she was handling a delocate flower. That was what theo was to her, a delicate flower, one she was afraid to hurt.
Her siren eyes were still fixed on his doe ones as if she was trying to read him. She was actually trying to do that, she wanted to know what he went through to be standing here infront of her as a captain.
Theo took back his hand gently feeling awkward. Ava apologized, "i am really sorry, i was lost in my thoughts." Her usual coldness was gone, her voice was just...normal. theo said,"shall we head to the base sir and major?"
Everyone nodded, theo held the oria and ava's luggage and headed towards the car. The other three followed behind. Theo was the one driving, oria was in the passenger seat while ava and velocef sat in the back seat. The whole ride ava was looking outside yet her ears were on the conversation of the boys.
It was clear from the conversation that theo was living all fine with the military people. Oria and velocef treated him like a friend more then a junior. This made ava's heart come at peace. Theo giggling all the way unaware of the fact that his giggles was giving peace and happiness to another soul.
In 20 minutes the car stopped at the military base. The three men and ava got out of the car. Her eyes roamed all over the place, taking in her home for next few months. Theo said,"major ava please follow me so i can show you your room." Ava was about to nod when oria spoke,"major ava, half of the base is under construction. You will have to share a room with whether captain theodore or another soldier."
Ava nodded,"i will share with captain theodore." Oria nodded his head and gestured theo to show ava his room. Theo extended his arm indicting that ava should follow him. She went behind him inside the first building.
About two minutes of walking in the long corridor theo finally halted infront of a room with his name tag on it. Opening the door theo entered with ava right behind him. It was a big room with two beds on each side and two tables and cabinets along with the beds.
Theo's side of the room was all set with picture frames, his trophies and military pictures. In middle of all the frames was a large picture frame. A picture of two kids, a girl who had a toddler boy on her back in a piggy back ride.
Ava's body moved towards the frame on it's own. She stood infront of it just staring at the frame which brought all memories gushing back to her mind. Theo said from behind her,"that is my older sister lily evans."
Ava looked back and asked,"how much time we have until the officials meeting starts?" Theo answered,"about three hours and i have to go meet sir oria in an hour." Ava nodded and went towards her backpack, taking out a small chip she placed it on the wall.
Theo asked,"what is that?" Ava looked at him and gestured him to sit, he did so. She sat on her bed facing him and spoke,"that is a voice blocking chip. I don't want anyone to listen to what i am going to say to you."
Theo nodded, ava continued,"i am lily evans, your older sister." Theo's eyes widened,"l..li..lily...no way you cant be real, how did you survive? Everyone was sure you were gonna die, they threw you in the sea infront of me. You were unconcious how can you survive in a damn sea?"
Ava took off her mask and said,"a boy saved me. When they threw me in the sea i was still a little concious, though faint. All i remember when i was falling in the sea, a boy jumped off the boat behind me. He was the one to save me, i lost my senses completely after that so i don't know what happened after that. When i woke up he was there in the hospital too but due to the excessive beating i had partial eyesight loss. About three months later when i got it back he was already gone somewhere."
Theo sealed his lips looking down, ava noticed the tears falling on his lap. Every tear felt like a stab to her heart. Standing up, she went to him, sitting beside him he hugged him. He melted in his older sister's embrace and hugged her back tightly, crying on her shoulder.
Ava couldn't say anything just be there for him to cry his sorrows out. Her hand ran up and down her back, trying to calm him down. He said,"i missed you so much lily, they were so cruel, i thought you died. Please don't leave me ever again, i can't live without you. My life is empty without you just like a blank canvas."
Ava didn't say anything as she knew, she had to leave when her work here is done. Not getting any assurance from ava, theo pulled away and looked at her face. Ava held his face in her hands and wiped his tears gently.
She said,"my brave boy, my prince, don't be like this. I am here for a purpose, a mission and when it is done i will have to leave. This life is no more mine, it belongs to someone else. I have no authority over it, if it was in my hands i would never leave but it is not in my hands. I am sorry."
Theo nodded understanding her point. Ava gave him a smll smile he made a sad face and hugged her so suddenly that it made her fall on the bed with his head on her shoulder. His arms wrapped around her waist as he snuggled in her feeling the love of his sister after 17 years.
Ava said nothing just let him be because it gave her peace too. She could not open up about her struggles and hardships but she could use him to heal herself.
