Chapter One: Kidnapped

June twenty nine, 2016

0

As I’m sitting with three other girls on a broken down basement floor, I’m left wondering if we will ever escape. If we will even survive.

0

I hear footsteps slowly stepping down the basement stairs and I feel chills on my spine. All of our head’s turn immediately.

0

“Here’s your breakfast.“ He said with a malicious grin spreading across his face, An unsteady tone in his voice. He held out his hand evidently wanting us to take the bread he had brought for us.

0

I took the bread and made a slight cough. The cigarette smoke that surrounded him was not something I’m used to. Bri and Kacey grabbed a piece of the stale, cold bread eyeing it as though they expected it to attack them. Rose was the only one who did not take the bread that he had gotten for her. “Take it, you little brat!” He shouted at her, wrathfully. Rose did not take her head out of her hands, so I took the bread from him, my fingers slipping on his hands. It was as though I could feel the evilness in his cold, damp, palm.

1

He finally went back upstairs and Rose looked up at me with redness in her beautiful cognac brown eyes, assuming she had been crying, I embraced her lightly. I could feel her back trembling. She was undoubtedly cold. Rose took the bread while sniffling.

0

“Thanks Adriana…” She said very quietly. Bri patted her back trying to comfort her. Bri is the oldest amongst us.

0

“Everything is going to be OK, Rose.” Said Kacey with a dubious look on her face, probably thinking the opposite.

0

I leaned against the dirt encrusted wall wondering what my parents thought. I started crying, I never ever thought I would be in this situation. I never even wondered what it was like for the people that did go through this.

0

We were all so terrified of the kidnapper. He was a big guy that could probably overtake all of us at the same time. Every time he came down to his basement it was like a wave of coldness flooded through the whole room.

0

Time went by so slow all the days that we were in his basement. We had nothing to do but sulk in our sad feelings, our scared feelings. What if we found a way to escape? Would that even be possible?

0

I wonder to myself why he even wanted us, did he want to kill us or did he merely just like watching teenage girls suffer?
