The Setup

“Sir! Sir. Are you OK? Wake up!! Please don’t die on me!”

The handsome yet majestic Doctor Theo Tian arrived on the murder scene and discovered a young man unconscious, just laying there on the floor.

He checked. He had a pulse. He was still alive but barely.

He was covered in blood. Bloodstains splattered all over his clothes, but no wounds?

There were no open wounds on his body whatsoever.

Where did the blood come from?

And more importantly, why was he holding a knife that was also covered in blood?

The diligent doctor did his job. He was here to save lives, not question the people he was saving. Leave that to the professional crime scene detectives, and let them do the questioning.

That was the number one rule that all doctors must abide by.

Even if the guy he was saving was the murderer - it was better for him to be alive than dead. Justice can only be served to the living and not a dead corpse.

Finally, after a few minutes, the man started to regain a semblance of consciousness.

His eyes began to open.

His vision was blurry at best.

Doctor Tian kept tapping his shoulder and calling out to him, making sure he doesn’t fall back in to his unconscious state of mind.

“What’s your name, Sir? Can you tell me your name?”

The doctor needed an answer, to find out whether the man was cognitive or not.

He needed a response.

“Frank! My name’s Frank Lin...”

The blood soaked man with a knife in his hand finally managed to respond.

The victim knew his own name, and that was a relief to the distressed and apprehensive doctor.

The really nauseous and semi-conscious man returned his gaze to the incredibly beautiful and serene doctor that managed to save his life. His handsome face kept flashing before his eyes.

During all this chaos, murder, and death, there was only one thought that crossed his mind - Who was he? And how will he be able to thank the extraordinary doctor for saving his life?

As he slowly but surely began to slip back in to darkness - his vision began seeing nothing but the horrifying images of what happened to his best friend. He couldn’t tell how long it’s been since he witnessed that blood-filled scene.

“Do you remember what happened? Frank? Are you able to recall what happened?”

The Inspector hurriedly ran to Frank’s side, trying desperately to get something out of him while he was still awake. But it was to no avail. Frank couldn’t say much. The only words that he could muster were: “I don’t know... what happened...” as he fell back in to unconsciousness.

However, that was a lie. Frank remembered everything.

He figured he shouldn’t say anything yet. For the sake of his best friend.

He needed to know exactly what was going on first, before he told anyone about what happened. Even Frank couldn’t believe what he saw.

Cos he was a witness. He witnessed his friend, Dan, holding the lifeless body of his dead boyfriend, Ben.

Laying in a pool of blood.

Frank screamed, as his mind went numb.

He needed to find out the answers before he betrayed his best friend.

But what Frank did not realise - the knife he was holding in his hand - It was the murder weapon used to kill Ben.

Stabbed over and over again - a total of 28 times.

Frank was the one being framed, it seemed.

The question was who framed him? And was it really his so-called Best Friend?

Nothing felt certain. Yet everything was messed up.

Frank’s history with Ben was not the most friendly of nature. Some may even call it tumultuous and full of jealousy from both sides. Frank admitted to having strong feelings for Dan at one point in his life. He even went face to face and toe to toe with Ben in fighting for Dan’s love and affection.

Eventually, Frank had to let it go, cos it was not worth losing Dan’s friendship over it. Dan only saw him as a friend anyway. So it was best to keep their relationship platonic rather than never being friends again.

However, that doesn't stop everyone else from spreading gossip and rumours. Will they believe his side of the story? Will they believe he did not kill Ben out of rage and jealousy? The green-eyed monster taking over and consuming his every action and desire?

It was not the most ideal situation to be put into - especially when he’s got the murder weapon in his hand, and blood splattered all over him that did not belong to his own.

If Frank doesn’t wake up soon and fast, the real murderer might just get away with it.

It was unfortunate for Frank that he was more loyal to his friend in that spilt second before he passed out again.

And it's that blind faith and loyalty that might just come back to haunt him when he least expects it.
