Exceptional horror/fantasy
"You Bury Me is one of those stories that truly stands out as something of unique worth. It's told from an intriguing point of view, fourth person maybe? I'm not exactly sure how to state it, but the execution makes this a riveting tale. It's told from a collective voice, of all the people who'd experienced the story, and it portrays the disquiet and terror with convincing clarity. I've read many fantasy/horror stories and none have quite managed to hook me as this one."
Captivating
"I really was drawn into the story. I think one of the main strengths is the writing style. It's really rhythmic and well-paced. I thought the words were very well chosen and the narrator's voice was well rounded and realistic. This sounded very much like a friend telling another a story from the past, especially the bit at the end where the narrator thinks out the meaning of those fatal last words. One thing I had issue with, was the old woman's motivation. I guess I find it hard to believe that she chose this one village to punish because they treated her like an outsider. That being said, I am sure there are people out there who would react in such a way to that kind of abuse so take my opinion with a grain of salt Overall, I really liked this story!"
