A beautiful, emotional story!
"Man, this was an emotional rollercoaster! The characters are beautifully, believably written, and the story is paced such that each of their lives slowly interweave with each other, all because of Masako. It’s not often that an author can make you feel sorry for the “villain” (not that I think she was the villain but she did do questionable things), but you can’t help but care for her and Lucy and Fumiko as they each deal with their own problems in very different ways. Honestly, I don’t read a lot of thriller/mysteries but this one was excellent and I highly recommend it. The author is clearly very well versed with Japanese culture and it’s as much a part of the story as the characters, which I love. I can’t wait to read what else she writes! "
