La hora del infierno

Sara se despertó, de nuevo, a las tres en punto de la madrugada. Como todas las noches desde hacía meses, atravesaba el pasillo en penumbra y repetía su ritual: vaciaba la vejiga, encendía un cigarro junto a la ventana de la cocina y observaba la calle desierta. Pero esa noche algo era distinto. Un frío antinatural inundaba la cocina, y el olor a huevos podridos y vinagre saturaba el aire. Abrió la despensa, buscando la fuente del hedor. Entonces lo vio: un ser aterrador, de sonrisa imposible y mirada lasciva. La joven gritó, al tiempo que pensaba en aquellas cosas que la ciencia negaba y la superstición conocía. Para cuando quiso reaccionar, la criatura ya había cruzado el umbral. Tras la última calada del último cigarro en su última noche, Sara supo que al día siguiente amanecería en el infierno.
