Chapter 1

Her hands shook, the tears wanting to escape her eyes. The cellphone in her hand shook, she didn't want to believe it. He had been so loving, so caring towards her. She would have never thought that he would do this to her. She needed to get out of there before he came out of the shower, she thumped on her chest.

It hurted, it felt like someone was gripping her heart. Three years, they have been together for three years and he threw it all away for someone who had gotten into a rich kid's school with a damn scholarship.

Maybe it was because she had told him she wanted to wait until she was ready. Maybe it was because she had told him she wanted to wait until they were out of high school. She wanted her first time with him to be special, having sex while still in high school was not special.

She heard the door to the bathroom open and she whirled around, her tear streaked face was the first thing Marcus cross saw when he stopped drying his brown short hair. His midnight colored eyes looked at her in confusion. His eyes landed on her hand and his eyes widen. His handsome face looked alert, his mouth opening and closing not knowing what to say.

"Peyton—" he started throwing the towel onto his bed, he could feel his heart start to race. His face paled and his whole world was slowly spinning. She threw the phone on his bed, pointing to it. "Read it" she whispered not looking at him. "Mi amor, please—" he begged but she snapped her attention to him. Her silver eyes glaring at him. "Read. The. Texts." She gritted through teeth.

He fell to the floor, his shoulders shaking and tears streaming down his face. "Fine, I will" she hissed out grabbing the phone off of the bed and began to read the texts.

"Good morning my beautiful sunshine, I know how busy you are after you wake up. I hope you have a great day, I love you and will see you later." Her voice was strong, even though she wanted to break down. By now Marcus had stood up, his feet walking towards her and kneeling down hugging her legs.

"Hello my handsome boyfriend, I had such a great time with you. Tonight was such a amazing night, you were so great in bed just like all those other times" she felt disgusted just reading that part. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He cried out. She threw the phone on the bed again, not looking at him. "She meant nothing" he said, his voice breaking.

"She meant nothing" She repeated, she was silent before she burst out laughing. He looked up confused, his eyes red and puffy from crying. "You two fucked and you are telling me having your fucking dick in her fucking pussy meant nothing!" She screamed out more tears streaming down her face.

"Let me go!" She screamed bending down trying to pry him off of her but to no avail. She stood up just standing there. "Marcus" she whispered. She didn't know how long she could hold back from breaking down. "Marcus please" she pleaded.

The door to the room opened revealing it to be his mother, she looked on in confusion. "Peyton, sweetheart is everything okay?" She asked, her sweet voice was painful to her. The women was like a second mother to her, she looked over at her. "Your son cheated on me" she whispered.

His mother's gasped her eyes going to her son, glaring at him. "Marcus you coward let her go now!" She screamed out making him let her go fast standing up. His mother walked over to him, raising her hand and slapping him across his face. "You're just like your father" she said, disappointed making him hang his head low in shame.

Peyton gave his mother a shaky smile before walking out of the room. Almost there! She walked fast, walking downstairs and out the door. She made it to her car, slipping inside before breaking down.

They were just teenagers in high school, it was puppy love but she loved him. He wasn't rich but his family was well off, his family could afford to send him to the all rich high school for kids. Her body trembled, sob after sob left her body.

She was experiencing her first heartbreak and she didn't like it. Was she not pretty enough? Was she not worth the wait? Why was she not enough? Those were the thoughts going through her beautiful mind.

Her pocket vibrated and she slipped out her phone sniffing. 'Mom' for some reason the seventeen year old was afraid to answer. She took a deep breath, controlling it. She tapped on the green button, putting it on speaker and talking. "Hello mother" she answered, her voice not wavering.

"Sweetie, your father and I need to talk. Please come home" her mother pleaded making her want to laugh out. She bet that it had to do with the fighting both her parents have recently been doing. "Okay, I'll be there right now" she said hanging up.

She started her car, the sleek black sport's car engine purring as it turned on. She threw the house one more last look, she was just fifteen when they met. Would she not feel like this after a break up after she was grown, was it because she was barley a teenager. Was it teenage hormones? Is that why she felt pathetic.

She threw her phone in the passenger seat and began to drive away. She wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand trying to focus on the road. She knew driving in the state she was in was not okay but she didn't want to stay in that place any longer.

She heard her phone went off which indicated someone was calling her. She ignored it knowing her mother never called twice. The phone went silent meaning whoever was calling her had stopped trying.

She arrived at the gates that protected the property that belonged to her parents. She pushed the button for the window, the window slide down and she reached over punching in the code.

She sat back, watching as the iron gates slowly started to open. She drove past the gates once they were fully opened, she could see the lights in the mansion were turned on. She parked the car in front of the mansion, killing the engine and snatching her phone from the passenger seat.

She opened the door, exiting the car and walking to the door of the three story high mansion. She opened the door walking inside, her seventeenth birthday had been yesterday and there was still glitter on the floor which they were still trying to get the glitter off of the floor.

She walked to the dinning room where she found her mother and father having dinner. The confusion must have been on her face because her mother smiled over at her. "Come here my love, have a seat and eat" she said waving her over and telling the servant next to her to set another seat at the table.

The servant nodded walking away. She slowly entered the dinning room and took a seat across from her mother. Her father who sat at the head of the table was silently eating. She could feel how tense it was. She wasn't hungry, her appetite was gone the moment she found out about her boyfriend cheating on her.

She remembered when they used to be a happy family but recently her parents have been fighting. She closed her eyes, letting her fork fall beside her plate. "What's going on?" She asked making both her parents pause from eating.

Her mother cleared her throat but didn't talk. "Your mother and I are getting divorced" it was her father who broke the silence. She scraped her chair back, standing up so fast she almost tipped over her chair.

What more bad luck could that day offer her? She almost wanted to laugh, actually she wanted to laugh and cry all at once. "I have to go" she hissed out turning around and walking out of the dinning room.

She thought once she was in her room she would break down and cry but she just sat at the edge of her bed and stared off into space. She didn't know how to feel about her parents divorcing, did she hate it? Yes, with a passion. She heard a meow and someone scratching at the door. She opened the door, looking down to see a white kitten with black boots. Her green cat-like eyes stared up at her, meowing. She scooped up the kitten snuggling the tiny furball in her arms.

She slammed the door closed going to her bed and laying down with the kitten. "You won't leave me right" She softly said, given the kitten a smile. The kitten's purring soothed her, the sound and the way it felt made her slowly fall asleep.

She wasn't even asleep for half a hour before she heard shouting and things being thrown. She slipped from her bed, leaving the kitten all alone on the bed. She walked to the door opening it and walked out of her room.

She walked downstairs, slowly walking to the living room where she witness as her mother grabbed a small glass statue of a horse and threw it across the room where her father stood. "Calm down women!" Her father's angry voice boomed out making her jump in surprise.

"Calm down? Calm down! Do not tell me to calm down! I wanted to fix this marriage but you just want to divorce!" She cried out grabbing a book and chucking it across the room in a fit of rage.

The whole room looked like it went through a tornado. Pieces of glass laid everywhere, books and broken statues laid all over. "Amelia we have went to a marriage therapist but it always end up the same after we are done with the session. We have tried to rekindle the love but nothing seems to be working, you are the mother of my daughter and I love you as such but all romantic feelings went away the day you cheated!" She could hear the pain in his voice.

"You cheated!" It was Peyton who interrupted the fight, their attention snapped over to her. "You see what you caused!" It was Peyton's mother who started the fight once again glaring at her husband. "Just stop! Stop blaming dad!" She cried out, slapping her hand away when her mother tried to grab her shoulder.

She glared at her mother, her vision was blurred by tears. "I want to go live with dad" she softly said looking away from her. "Peyton" her mother's soft voice was making her heart hurt. She couldn't take it anymore, what else is the day going to throw at her?

"If you love me, you will let me go with dad" her voice was shaky. Her mother took a step back, she felt like she couldn't breath but that was the price she paid. Tears stung her eyes and she nodded. "Okay" she said giving her daughter a shaky smile. "Okay you can go with your father" she agreed.

It was midnight and peyton laid on her bed. Her kitten curled up against her, she could feel her eyes sting with tears making her blink them away. She heard her phone vibrate, she reached over to her nightstand to see she had received a group chat text message. She opened her phone going to her text messages to see it was a group chat with her three other friends.

'Hey girlies, let's meet up at a park.' The message read. It was send by one of her friends Ariel. She waited as her other two friends texted agreeing on meeting up, she then texted back also agreeing to meet up with them.

After throwing on a pair of blue denim skinny jeans and a white crop top she matched it with a black mini leather jacket and black leather high heel boots. She grabbed her cellphone and wallet slipping them in her pocket. She walked over to her pet, bending down and giving the cat a kiss.

She proceeded to walk out of the room closing the door behind her and hurried downstairs. "Peyton, where are you going?" It was her father, his tired eyes looking at Peyton with a worried glint in his eyes.

She smiled at him leaning in and kissing his cheek. "I'm going with some friends, I'll be back" she said turning around starting to walk away but he grabbed her shoulder once again. "Are you sure you want to go live with me? I'm moving away far from here. What about your friends and Marcus?"

Just hearing his name made her heart start to blacken. She shrugged her shoulders looking away from him. "He will have my best friend. The two can keep each other company" her father gave her a confused look. "What do you mean? Are you okay?" She laughed giving him a soft smile. "Dad I love you but what is up with all these questions, I'm okay" she promised turning back and walking out of the house.

She hated lying to him, she was more close with her father than mother but she didn't want to put Marcus in a bad light.

in front of the house a black glossy limo was parked. The limo driver opened the back door, she slipped into the limo and the driver closed the door walking to the driver's side.

Peyton looked out the window as the driver got in the car and turned on the engine. She unclasped the necklace she had around her neck, a beautiful engagement diamond ring dangling from the chain. The ring's band was gold with the diamond being a beautiful black glitter color.

She held it in front of her face, the way it dangled in front of her seemed like it was teasing her. She glared at it, it was such a shame. She didn't even want to keep it and throwing it away seemed like it was too cruel. She let out a sigh before putting the necklace in her pocket, she realized she had forgotten to tell the driver where she was headed and noticed that they were just going around in circles.

"The park on sixth avenue, please" she ordered to which the driver nodded and began to drive to the park. She closed her eyes, dozing off.

"Why can't we tell anyone?" Marcus had asked frowning and hugging her from behind.

"Because we are still way too young" she had answered with a small laugh. She had turned around giving him a smile.

"But I want everyone to know you are official mine" he said pressing his forehead against hers. "I will always be yours"

"Miss Waldorf we are here" the driver said in his broken English. She fluttered her eyes open to see her door was open. She gave him a smile thanking him. She got out of the limo, her eyes searching for her friends. She saw them laughing playfully on the children's playground.

"I will wait for you here" he reassured her. She nodded at him and began to walk towards them. She smiled as she was getting closer and she raised her hand waving about to call them but then she saw that it wasn't only the three of her friends that had came but three of her friends and her former best friend.

She dashed towards a big bush that she saw was near the children's playground hiding between them. No one else was at the park, just them. She heard as they talked bringing out her phone and recording it. "You are putting us in a tight spot Ariel, you said you were done with him." It was her other friend.

"He came over the other day to tell me he was breaking up with her" it was her former best friend who spoke, her voice sounding dreamy. "You can't help who you love" she continued giving her friend a smirk.

She stopped the recording her hands shaking. Her mind was slowly going blank, everything around her was slowly spinning. She had to get out of there before someone saw her hiding.

She put her phone in silence before texting the group chat. 'Something came up, I won't be able to go' she texted the group chat. One of her friends checked her phone, letting out a sigh. "She isn't coming, something came up" she said making Ariel let out a laugh.

"She's probably all heartbroken and crying her heart out" Ariel teased making her two other friends look at her with disgust.

"You're just a lowly stationed student who got in with a scholarship of soccer which I don't know how you even got it when you suck at it. Remember your place" her other friend sneered at her, her eyes glaring at her.

"The only reason why we haven't told her is because we actually don't want to hurt her" her other friend said, their friends tried to warn her about Ariel but she thought her friends were just jealous and even when she were tell him they were just jealous they still stood by her.

She was mad at them but also at her self for not believing them. "Let's go Stacey" her friend said grabbing her hand and leading her away from the backstabber. Before long Ariel also left leaving her all alone, she came out from hiding slowly walking to the swings. She sat on the one that were meant for kids, looking up at the night sky. For the first time she can see the night sky full of shining stars, making the sky so beautiful. The moon was full.

She ignored the figure that sat beside her and kept looking up at the sky. "Peyton" she got up from her seat, about to walk away but the figure stood up catching up to her and grabbing her arm. She stopped walking, standing there frozen.

Her heart, it was starting to hurt. It felt like someone was pressing something heavy against her chest. "Haven't you hurt me enough" her voice was strong unlike her heart. His hold on her wrist tighten, but that wasn't what had her attention. It was the way she felt his hand tremble, she knew once she turned to look at him she would let her guard down. "Please" he cried, his voice sounded broken making her look back at him.

His pained face made her turn her whole body around and wrapped her arms around him in one swift motion. He wrapped his arms around her small frame, Peyton had tears streaming down her face.

"This is the last time we will see each other" she whispered letting go off him. He looked at her in confusion, god he looked so adorable when he was confused. "What?" His voice trembled shaking his head. "No please don't go" he cheated on her so why did she feel like terrible at seeing him like this.

She leaned in, pressing her lips to his cheek. Her lips lingered against his cheek, he softly exhaled a shaky breath as he fluttered his eyes close. "Take care" she whispered against his cheek. She slowly pulled back and turned around walking away.

She felt as more tears streamed down her face, she was about to tumble to the floor but felt someone catch her in time. She looked at who had caught her and saw it was her driver. He was a middle age man so she knew he was capable of carrying her.

"Thank you I can walk on my own now" she said when they were in front of the limo. He put her down and opened the back door for her. She slipped into the car, closing the door and laying the side of her head against the window. "Goodbye Marcus" she whispered closing her eyes and letting one final tear escape her eye.
