"Lisaa!! Wake up, you're late".

"What? Leave me, I wanna sleep some more," I said.

"Lisa, you're interview is today"

Immediately I jumped off from the bed, "why didn't you wake me up early," I said.

"I've been trying to wake you up since, but you've been sleeping like a log of wood," Laura said.

"Whatever," I said. "I'll go have my bath".

"Yeah be quick cos you're late already, I'll make breakfast," She said.

Laura had been my best friend since highschool.

We went to the same college too, we're both hated in our families maybe that's why we're so close.

I dressed up and came to the sitting room hurriedly for breakfast.

Laura and I live in a one bedroom apartment.

I lost my job a month ago and since then, I've been looking for another job.

I'd applied to different companies but I always got negative responses, so I'm happy today at least one company has invited me over for an interview.

I'm happy, excited, nervous and late, wow, so many emotions at once

I resigned from my old job cos my ex boss has been trying to hit on me

And he's married with kids, if he thinks I'll date a married man and ruin a family of four then he must be stupid.

It got worse 2 months ago when he tried to molest me so I decided to resign.

I ate hurriedly, grabbed my stuffs and ran out.

"Bye!" I yelled.

"Bye, best of luck," Laura yelled out.

I stopped a taxi, entered and gave him the address.

After some minutes we arrived at the company, I paid him and came down.

"Wow, it's so huge and beautiful," I said to myself as I looked up and gazed at the mighty building written 'FENDOZ LTD'.

"No time to admire," I said to myself and rushed in.

I came in and met the receptionist.

"Hi, I'm Lisa Mcgomery, I have an interview today"

"Oh Mcgomery, you're late, Ms Davids has been waiting for you," She said.

"Ohh, I'm soo sorry I'm late," I said.

"It's okay, I'll let her know you're here," She said.

"Thank you".

She pointed to some waiting chairs , "you can sit there and wait".

"Okay".

I sat there and looked around, the walls were painted ash, weird right?

"The decor itself was dim. Guess the CEO loves dim colours " I thought.

"Ms Mcgomery you can go in," She said.

I stood up and came towards her desk, "go to the hallway, enter the 2nd office on your left," She instructed.

"Thanks ".

As I walked down the hallway, I was a bit nervous.

There were many doors down the hallway.

"Which door did she say again?"

"Aha....2nd on my left".

I knocked on the door softly and came in when I heard a voice say"come in".

"Good morning Ma "

"Good morning, Miss Mcgomery right?"

"Yes Ma, I'm sorry I'm late ".

"It's okay, on the day of my interview I was also late," She said smiling.

Her smile was so beautiful and genuine that it made me relax.

"So Ms Mcgomery, where did you work previously?"

"I worked as a secretary in a company for a year and a half Ma ".

"Hmmm ok"

"What makes you think you're qualified to get a job here?" She asked .

"I studied business administration in a good university and came out with good grades. Ma, I may not be the best, but I promise you that if you give me a chance I would do my best and I would never come late again," I said smiling at the last part.

Luckily she smiled too.

"Okay, I'll get back to you by tomorrow. Have a nice day," She said.

"Thank you, have a nice day too Ma'am ".

I packed my things and left, immediately I left I let out a sigh of relief.

"Phew....."I think she likes me already, I like her too, I just hope I get this job, if not I'll be doomed .

I got some groceries and headed home.

I took a shower, made lunch and decided to watch a movie.

Few hours later, Laura came in.

"Hey sweetie," She called out.

"Hey, babes, how was work?" I asked.

"Stressful, but not too bad, how was the interview?"

"It went well even though I came late, I'm hoping to hear from them by tomorrow ".

"I pray it'll be positive babes," She sighed.
