"This is an incredible horror novel imbued with suspense and the supernatural. The unique style of imagery Robert James uses to paint this wonderfully dark story is seamless and will have you entranced the deeper you delve into this world. The periodic dream sequences, journal entries and interludes from the past were excellent ways of providing insight to what horrors the main characters have yet to encounter. Each character felt fully developed and you'll feel an interesting conflict of empathy by the end of this novel. I highly recommend reading this book if you're looking for a unique, refreshing take on a genre that's oversaturated with recycled themes and clichéd ideas. I'm definitely looking forward to the next release from Robert James. "

"This book had me hooked until the end (an ending which I didn't anticipate). The story progression and development was awesome. I really enjoyed going back in time with the journal passages to get a better understanding of how everything in the current was influenced by what had happened decades ago. You'll find yourself falling in love with the characters and even rooting for the less than savory ones (I know I did). If you're looking for a story with horror, mystery, and a little bit of romance thrown into the mix, then this is the novel for you."
