Chapter 1
I woke up with a jerk, sweat trickling down my face, and my breath came out in pants.
I looked around and saw that I was in my room. I tried to remember what woke me up or what I dreamt about, but I could not get my hands on it; this has been going on for two weeks now.
Two weeks ago...
"Ash... Ash! Come back here!" my mom yelled as I ran round the park.
I was always a stubborn one, never really following what others had to say.
I ran round the park with my mom on my tail.
"I'll be back, I promise. Mom, just wait for me at the back; I'll be with you in a minute," I said as I ran off to meet my two best friends, April and Emma.
"Hi Emma, hi April," I called out as I ran to meet them. They were both with their parent.
"Good evening," I greeted their parents as I got to them.
"How are you doing?" Mrs. Benson, April's mum, replied as she patted my head.
"I'm doing great, and you?" I said, being a well-mannered girl.
"I'm doing great, thank you," she replied with a smile gracing her lips.
"Would you mind if I stole April and Emma from you?" I asked the parents, and Emma's mum, Mrs. John, shook her head.
Mrs. John replied with a soft smile. "Not at all." We then ran off.
I am an outspoken person, while Emma was the most reserved one among the three of us. April was just like me; she loves adventure.
We were running round the place when we heard a noise coming from the back of the teddy bear stand.
Emma was already quivering like a leaf; she doesn't like those types of things. I looked from April to Emma, and Emma shook her head.
When we rounded the corner, we saw a dark figure standing there; it was like a mist of dark cloud, and it stood there staring at us like it had been waiting for us.
The next thing I saw, I was in bed. How did I get here? I had no idea.
