Neon Nights: Rise of the Midnight Blood Blade

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

In a neon-drenched dystopian city ruled by the ruthless Kantokusha Corporation, Yoru Ketsurugi fights a one-woman war for justice and vengeance. After her father, Hinotori, dies betrayed by those he trusted, Yoru discovers his journal exposing Kantokusha’s darkest secrets—horrific experiments, lies, and a plan to control humanity under the guise of curing the deadly disease PISDD. Armed with her mother’s katana, Shinsei no Kage, Yoru takes up his unfinished mission to dismantle the corporation. Alongside Furosha, a rebellious teenage hacker with his own ties to Kantokusha’s atrocities, she faces bio-modified enforcers, corporate spies, and traitors from her past. With every clash of steel and uncovering of buried truths, Yoru fights not just for her family but for the millions destroyed by Kantokusha’s greed. Neon Nights is a brutal tale of vengeance and survival, where justice cuts sharper than any blade.

Dedication & Acknowledgments

This book would not exist without the chaos, the late nights, and the people who believed in me when I didn’t.

To my family—for their patience.

To my wife—for her strength.

To the voices in my head that refused to shut up until this story was told.

And to anyone out there building something from nothing—keep going.

About the Author

Some stories don’t ask to be written—they demand it. For me Neon Nights wasn’t just an idea. It was a voice that wouldn’t quiet down, a vision that refused to fade. Long before the concept, Yoru lived in the shadows of my mind, waiting for the right moment to step into the light. A lifelong fan of storytellers and visual artists, I blends music, illustration, and prose to bring worlds to life. This book is just the beginning.

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
