Orla stares at the soft-creme beige letter, paper thick, written in fountain pen with immense handwriting. Her shoulders shudder as she re-reads the name, “Leone”. Her shoulders shudder with goosebumps radiate throughout her body, her lip twitching by the sight and sound of his name.

“Leone” meaning lion, from Latin and Italian. As Orla is in lost of deep thought of the letter containing an invitation of Leone inviting her for a rehearsal dinner.

“Hello Orla,

We need to rehearse your wedding dinner, it is a must since you wed in 3 days. Leone is getting impatient, and I cant hold him for much longer. Please, come we need you here.

Your best regards,

Dvora”

Orla drops the weight of her shoulders and lets out heavy sigh and throws herself on the white-creme upholstered chaise lounge. Preparing herself for another sight of Leone.

Staring at the ceiling with the back of her hand rested on her forehead.

“Darling aren’t you suppose to be at the rehearsal dinner?”

Orla’s mother walks in heels prepared to go as she puts on her earrings. Her mother staring at Orla impatiently.

“Do I really have to see that chump? I hate the sight of him, I cant even stand him. Mother why are you forcing me in this marriage? Don’t you love me? Why are you and Father excited to give me away to someone so....bland!”

Orla gets off the lounge and stares at her mother with exasperation eyes, that soon resolute to weaker, pooled-teared eyes.

Waiting on her mothers answer, her mother quickens her lips shut, and stares down. Ashamed of how their relationship has gone cold for the last 8 months.

Orla walks off in resentment in teary eyes, heading upstairs to change. Stepping each stair with anger and incensed that she carried for her family that she once loved.
