Stronger

I finally found the right witch to do the job. After months of searching, I found someone that would do a location spell to find where Michael was hiding Chantel and Ambrose. It was time to put an end to them and all of the others who were helping them. I was going to put an end to the army they were forming, and Chantal would be mine. Yet, the only thing I needed from her was the child she was carrying. It was the key to everything, and I was sure I could use it to bring down all the angel-vamps.

They didn’t deserve the power they had and their rules. It was always that you can’t do this or that, and I wasn’t too fond of it. I wanted freedom to live the way I wanted. Unlike the rest of the vamps that Michael created, they had free will. I had none, and the one thing that should have been mine belonged to my protege. If I had known that a century ago. I would have never turned him.

“I have the one you wanted.” The witch spoke, walking in with a young girl I had never seen before. How could she be so fucking stupid? This girl looked nothing like the picture Shanice, showed her and whoever she was. She had to go. I didn’t have time to be babysitting a brat when I had Shanice. All the woman did was nag about how she was stuck in the home during the day and her money. It was gone, and she acted as if I could do something about it.

“She’s the wrong girl. Didn’t Shanice show you a picture? Could you be so fucking idiotic? I need Chantal and the bastard she is carrying. Not this!”

“You Will Never Have Her!” The little brat yelled. I didn’t have the patience for children as I walked up to the girl, shoving my fist through her chest. Only she didn’t die as I planned. Instead, wings sprouted from her back as her eyes turned white. The next thing I knew, I was flying through the window of my 12th floor penthouse as she knocked me three blocks away. If it wasn’t for the other magic I’d collected. She would have killed me. However, by the time I made it back, she was gone, and so was my witch.

“Damn, what fucked you up?”

“Your daughter and Ambrose have made another angel-vamp— a child, and she’s powerful.”

“Hmm, it looks like you have a problem with your witch, which is not my problem. You paid to drink my daughter’s blood, and I delivered. Get me my money back, and then I will think about helping you again.” What was going to happen was her death. I didn’t have time to deal with Shanice and my other issues.

I could feel myself starting to panic. Cepheus had Adrianna, and there was nothing I could do. She was a child… our child and Chantal and I were supposed to protect her. Anything could have been going on right now. He could have been torturing her or something worse. I didn’t want to think about it, but I knew what my former master was like.

He didn’t respect anyone but himself, and it caused me to panic while everyone around me was trying to figure out ways to get her back. Anna recently turned into what we were, and Chantal and I hadn’t had the chance to teach her anything.

“I don’t see the need to run around like a chicken with no head. It’s a reason you were supposed to turn her. It’s written by God that one of your creations will have their abilities without Cha giving birth to her. Cepheus can’t handle her. The stupid fucker probably took one look at the girl and thought she was defenseless.” Lucifer shrugged as Michael and Grant turned to him as they thought and sat. It was always like this, leaving them to be the last ones to know about the situation.

“That doesn’t mean Cep wouldn’t try anything. He has her in his grasp. That alone can cause someone to worry. Anna doesn’t know her abilities, and she was turned hours ago. She needs blood and lurking during the day, which means she could be chasing down humans.”

“That’s if she had the lust for blood. Not all vamps are cursed with lust when turned. Unlike Chantal, some can control theirs as well. Her blood lust was strong because she needed the blood to regenerate her uterus. It was a good thing for Ambrose to resist her for months, or we wouldn’t have this.”

They were talking about the subject. I needed to find Adrianna besides talking. I knew Cepheus had her in one of his penthouses, blocking me from feeling her. I needed to find a way to pinpoint it, but I couldn’t.

“Wait! I can feel her. She’s near—”

“I’m here!”

“Holy Fuck! Adrianna, do not do that shit again. How did you learn that so quickly? I’m still having problems transporting myself from place to place.”

“As I said. She is special. When are you going to listen to me?” Lucifer was on to something. He was speaking the truth, but I still had a hard time trusting the man. He was the devil and known for his tricks. This could have been a way to get close to us so he could take what Cepheus was trying.

“I don’t need what I already have. I’m powerful and taking your children would help me none. I don’t need them, as Cepheus does.”

“I was blocking my thoughts.”

“Oh, my bad, was that what you thought, you were doing? Didn’t Mikey Boy tell you that you cannot block us until you’re stronger? Or was that another lie he told? I swear, the humans learn that I’m the liar and all of the things above. When Michael lies more than I.”

That was true. From the moment Chantal and I landed in Romania, he lied up until now. I know he didn’t mean any harm besides trying to make me see what I needed to do, but now. Now, he was lying for the fun of it, because I didn’t see the meaning of doing so. We needed guidance, not tests.

“She’s the witch that found us. The weird grey-headed vampire dude was using her. He thinks Cha’s baby is the key to him gaining eternal life and tried to kill me. He ripped my heart from my chest, and it hurt like sh— crap.”

While Chantal checked on Adrianna, I kneeled before the witch, who was barely alive. Anna had been feeding from her, but she made sure to leave her alive for us. I could see she was scared, and that’s the way we all wanted her to be. “Where is Cepheus?”

“Dead, I hope.Your gifted little girl knocked him out the window from the 12th floor, hopefully with luck, he impaled himself on the Statue of Liberty, but that’s only a dream.”

“If you think that will get us to trust you, think again. You helped the man who is after my wife and child locate us!”

“I did a location spell, but I didn’t give him the address. I grabbed the girl when I knew exactly what your wife looked like. I was only helping because Sadie and Rhonda told me it was to throw him off until you built your army. I am not your enemy, but if you don’t like me, then kill me. Then he will only find someone who will do what I did but give him your location.” She spoke as Andre walked over to her, bearing his teeth and his nose starting to turn.

I made sure to sniff her as she stood looking at him like he was crazy, but he stepped away and nodded. I knew if she didn’t smell like Cepheus, she wasn’t loyal to him because he had sex with all of his allies. It was too good to be true. Therefore, it gave me a reason not to trust her. I lived with Cep for a century and knew how he worked. He knew this, which was why I couldn’t make any mistakes.

Everyone in the room with me I could consider as family. I knew they were loyal, but the woman before me, I couldn’t say. I wanted to believe her, but my gut told me not to. Therefore, I had to follow my intuition, and it said to end her life. Without a thought, I gripped her head and quickly snapped her neck. Adrianna seemed surprised, as if she were about to cry, but Grant pulled her to him, glaring at me.

She was a danger to us, and they were acting as if I had done something wrong. They knew Cepheus would only change up because he knew what I would check, and so would the others who knew him. “What? You know why I did it.”

“That wasn’t the point, Brose. You’re about to be a father. You can’t be killing in front of them like this without giving a warning. She’s still new to this and against killing. Give her some time, and then you can consider doing this in front of her.”

I turned to Grant and pulled Adrianna from his arms, hugging and kissing the top of her head. After, I whispered sorry and sent her to her room. I was still learning this master… well father thing, and like her, it would take me some time to get used to it.

“Now that is done. I want to talk about some other things—”

“We still have to turn them.” Chantal smiled, cutting off Lucifer and whatever he was about to say. We were tired of him talking, but he was saying useful things. Still, we were tired of his voice, and Chantal didn’t waste any time sinking her teeth into Andre’s neck and almost sucking him dry before pulling away and giving him our blood.

“Maybe you weren’t listening to me. There are things I need to talk to you about. Ambrose, your parents—”

“I don’t want to hear it. My wife has shared the story about it with me, and that’s good enough. Lucifer, you’re trying to help. That I understand, but there are things about my past I care not to hear. Tell us what we can do to stop Cepheus before his army causes the downfall of humanity.”

“I wouldn’t mind that at all, but we need them for their blood. Still, I would love to speak with you on a later date or time.”

Lucifer was like Michael in a sense. I learned if he thought something was important, he wouldn’t stop until he got his point across, but I hated it. Still, I nodded as I watched my wife turn to the next person while I turned to Felix, waiting for his turn. They all made it clear that Chantal was to turn them, or maybe it was because she was the only one who could change them.
