"This story takes a very human and real look at the experience of exploring one's identity. Izumi's story is captivating and understandable. Speaking as a cis man who works with queer teens, this book does a good job of making the lived experience of someone coming to terms with their gender and sexual identity make sense to someone who may have never experienced that process before. The story also does not shy away from the unfortunately very real danger and fear queer people often face. It is not done for the sake of shock, but to display the reality that people live with. Thankfully, that is not the sole focus, it also shows moments of genuine euphoria of experiencing who you are and being around people who genuinely love and support you. The cast of characters is diverse, expanding, messy, and delightful as genuine people are. The writer's use of imagery and metaphor is also an absolute delight to read. Twilight truly is a beautiful hour."

It is a sweet and insightful look into the life of a teen questioning their identity and doesn't shy away from some of the harder realities they might face. Shiori has done an amazing job of pulling me into the story, making it impossible to put down. I’m excited to keep reading and see how the story unfolds. "This writer is absolutely fantastic. The balance of dialog and description, of lighthearted moments and intensity, is very good. That being said, this story will rip your heart out. The characters are very-well thought out and feel real and you will fall in love with Izumi, the main character. The connections Izumi makes, and what he goes through will leave you wanting more every time you finish a chapter. When Izumi suffers, the reader suffers alongside, and when Izumi triumphs, one can't help but cheer him on. Edit: The first volume is complete! This was an incredible story from start to finish. Izumi's journey of self-discovery, hardship, love and loss are one that I hope to continue reading in the next volume. I love how vibrant the world is as we see it through Izumi's eyes, how raw the emotions are, and how it feels like you're there with them through it all. "
