Chapter 1
I arrived at my apartment tired after a long shift at the café. I wasn’t hungry for I had taken dinner in a nearby restaurant. After locking the door, I stripped, showered, changed into my sleeping clothes, and went straight to bed. The moment my head hit the pillow; I fell fast asleep.
At around 10 minutes past midnight, a cold chill in my room made me shiver, waking me up and finding the window open. Immediately, I got down from my bed and went to close it. The moon was full and bright in the starry sky. Someone grabbed me from behind and covered my mouth with a handkerchief which rendered me unconscious.
I woke up and found myself in the backseat of a moving car when it came to a stop and the driver opened the door and carried me holding me close to his chest. I let out an ear-piercing scream commanding him to let go of me as I kicked up and down and threw punches but nothing I did seemed to make him change his mind. He put me down on my feet in a room and closed the door before I could even get a chance to charge towards him.
I struggled with the door knob but it was locked and I then decided to look around the room. Half of the room was painted pink and the other half purple. The ceiling was painted black with white dots and shades of pink and purple. It looked like the universe and the Milky Way specifically. “Who is this guy and how does he know my favorite colors and why me?” I asked myself.
I banged the door with threats but nothing happened. I opened the window and screamed. It was like we were in the middle of the forest so I sat on the sun lounge and hugged my knees, crying. He was watching me from the CCTV camera fixed in one corner. I threw anything my hands touched on the floor as I screamed. I buried my face between my knees on the sun lounge as I cried.
I don’t know when I fell asleep but I woke up and found myself covered in a soft black and pink blanket and the room organized. I went to the bedside and found a pair of jeans and a white top. There was a letter on top and it read: “Morning princess! Meet me at the dining area after you freshen up. We need to talk. Trust me.”
I had to freshen up that was true and I wouldn’t disagree on meeting him because I needed answers. I put on the clothes and tied my hair to a ponytail after taking a cold shower and then went out of the room and turned to my left and down the stairs. I walked towards the door and then he grabbed my hand and walked me to the dining area.
There was a long table in the middle of the room. It was approximately 8 meters long and 4 meters wide and had 18 chairs. I sat on one end of the table and he sat on the other end. “Dig into whatever you want.’ He said and I just ate a sandwich. He held out a phone and slid it towards me. It was mine. I picked it up and unlocked it. My mother had texted me right after my kidnap and surprisingly, I replied. I looked up and saw a grin on his face. “He replied to my text but how did he know my password?” I said to myself.
I dialed my mother’s number. “Hello, sweetie! How are you?” she asked as soon as she picked up the phone. “I’m good mother,” I answered. He was smiling when I looked up to him.
“Will you be available next week?”
“I’ll check my schedule but I’ll surprise you why ask?”
“Your cousins are coming to visit and they’ll need someone to show them around besides you need to bond and catch up.”
“I’ll see what I can do” I sighed and hung up. He was still smiling
I called my boyfriend. “Hey babe!” He spoke. “Hey, love! What do you think of going to the mall with my cousins and I next week? It’ll be fun with you there.” I said and he told me that he was up for it and hung up. I looked up only to see his smile turn to a grin.
He walked over to me. “Who was that person that made you sound like you were flirting?” he asked it was like he knew who I was talking to. I looked straight into his eyes.
“No one and why do you care?”
I care because he isn’t the right one for you.” He yelled at me.
“Says the one who kidnapped me for no reason and replied to my texts without my permission,” I yelled too.
“Can’t you trust me? He’s not good for you” he shouted.
