Prologue
It's been eight years. Eight whole years. Anytime I remember what they did to me, my heart aches and there's this burning feeling within me to pay them back blood for blood.
The bell rang and it was time to have a break. The doors to the prison automatically opened and I saw other prisoners leave their cells. The jailers stood dutifully at their post making sure the prisoners were well behaved.
As usual, I didn't leave my cell, I sat there looking at the ceiling as tears freely ran down my cheeks. I honestly don't know why I was crying anymore.
Could it be because I wanted to leave here so badly and be there for my kids?
Or could it be because it hurts to know that he did that to me?
Or could it be because I feel more useless than usual?
I've tried severally to forget what happened but the more I try to forget the harder it has been for me. And all I wanted was my revenge.
He knew that I knew his bloody secret and he was scared it would taint his reputation since he was the heir to the Henia Empire.
And as for that bitch that helped him out, she waited for the best moment to strike. I'm sure she planned it for years.
I clenched my fists, stood up and punched the walls till my hands bled. I punched, punched and punched. I wish they were the one I was punching. I wished the blood that came out of my knuckles was theirs and they were begging me for mercy.
"Miss Nora?" I heard someone say. I looked towards the direction of the voice and I found one of the jailers standing at the door.
"What is it?" I asked quite harshly.
"You're free to leave this place. You've been bailed". He said and then stretched out his hand signalling me to come out of the cell.
I glared at him, then walked to the door and tried to slam the cell door on his face. But before I could do anything more, two hefty guys came and carried me out of the cell, like an old piece of wood.
Whoever they're going to take me to must be an influential person, more influential than that animal because that animal made sure noone came visiting for the past eight years.
So who could it have been that could have such boldness?
The hefty guys dropped me in front of someone who seemed to have been here for a while.
