The first glimpse

The lights in Madison Square Garden shone like stars, illuminating the vast sea of fans eagerly awaiting the queen of pop herself, Nora Hart. Her concerts were always more than music; they were experiences, carefully curated with surprises and moments that left fans buzzing for weeks.

Leo Walker stood in the back row, excitement coursing through him. He’d been a fan for years, collecting every album, knowing every lyric, and attending every concert within reach. But this one felt different. There was an electricity in the air, a spark of something magical he couldn’t quite explain.

Suddenly, the stage lights dimmed, and the audience erupted into a deafening roar. A single spotlight flared to life, illuminating the figure emerging from the shadows. There she was—Nora Hart, dressed in a stunning sapphire-blue gown that shimmered under the light, her presence commanding every eye in the room.

In her hands, she held a bouquet of delicate white roses, their fragrance seemingly reaching the front rows. Whispers spread through the crowd like wildfire. “What’s with the flowers?” “Is this part of the show?”

Nora raised a hand, her diamond-studded microphone catching the light. “Silence, please,” she said, her voice smooth and commanding yet teasingly warm. The crowd obeyed instantly, their anticipation palpable.

“Since this is my last day in New York…” she began, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips, “I wanted to do something special.” She stepped forward, her gown trailing behind her like liquid sapphire. “See these beautiful flowers? Let’s play a little game before the show starts.”

The crowd roared their approval.

Nora laughed softly, the sound sending a shiver down Leo’s spine. “Alright then,” she said, her voice low and inviting. “Here’s how it works: I’m going to throw this bouquet into the crowd, and whoever catches it…” She paused dramatically. “Gets a free VIP pass to meet me. Personally.”

The room erupted again, a cacophony of cheers and excited murmurs. Leo’s heart raced as he watched her raise the bouquet.

“Ready?” she called.

“YES!” the crowd screamed in unison.

Nora smiled. “One… two… three!”

The bouquet soared into the air, spinning in slow motion as if the universe itself wanted to savor the moment. Leo barely had time to react before something soft smacked him squarely in the face.

Stunned, he froze. His hand instinctively shot out to catch whatever had fallen at his feet. As he blinked and looked down, he realized with a jolt—it was the bouquet.

A wave of silence rippled through the crowd, every pair of eyes now focused on him.

Onstage, Nora grinned, her voice cutting through the quiet. “Meet me later, hon.”

Leo’s face flushed crimson, his heart pounding in his ears as he nodded awkwardly. He barely registered the whispers around him as the show began, his mind consumed by a single thought.

He was going to meet Nora Hart.

---

Hours later, the show had ended, leaving the crowd exhilarated and full of energy. Fans filed out of the arena, chatting excitedly about the performances, the lights, and, of course, the mysterious bouquet toss. But Leo Walker lingered, clutching the delicate flowers tightly in his hands.

He approached the VIP section cautiously, his nerves buzzing like static electricity. A burly security guard stood by the entrance, his expression unreadable.

Leo swallowed hard and held up the bouquet. “Um… I’m here to… to meet Nora,” he stammered.

The guard raised an eyebrow, his gaze flickering to the bouquet. “You’re the guy who caught these?”

Leo nodded, feeling his cheeks heat up. “Y-yeah. She said I should meet her…”

For a moment, the guard said nothing, then stepped aside, gesturing toward the hallway beyond. “Go ahead, kid. Room at the end of the hall.”

Leo murmured a shaky “thank you” and stepped through, his sneakers squeaking softly against the polished floor. The corridor was long and dimly lit, the hum of fluorescent lights filling the silence. At the very end, he spotted it: a door with a gold star and the words Nora Hart: Dressing Room written in elegant script.

His heart thundered in his chest as he approached. He raised his hand to knock but hesitated, taking a deep breath to steady himself. “You’ve got this, Leo,” he whispered to himself.

Finally, he knocked—softly, almost timidly.

“in,” came a voice from within, smooth and slightly raspy, like velvet over sandpaper.

Leo turned the handle and stepped inside.

The first thing he noticed was her—Nora Hart, standing by a vanity, still in her gown but with her heels swapped for fluffy white slippers. She was striking, her presence commanding the room.

She turned to face him, her lips curving into a small smile. “Oh, it’s you,” she said, leaning casually against the vanity.

Leo froze, his cheeks burning as he struggled to form words. “Y-you’re… beautiful,” he blurted out before he could stop himself.

She chuckled, a low, melodic sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Thank you, pretty boy,” she teased. “And thank you for playing along with my little game tonight.”

Leo managed a small, nervous laugh. “I wasn’t really… expecting this.”

Nora stepped closer, her gaze curious but warm. “Not a bad surprise, I hope?”

“N-not at all,” he said quickly. “I… I’m just a really big fan.”

Her smirk widened. “I could tell. You were practically glowing out there when you caught the bouquet.”

Leo looked down, embarrassed. “I, um… didn’t really think it’d hit me in the face.”

She laughed again, and for a moment, the tension in the room eased. “Well, it worked out in your favor, didn’t it?”

Leo nodded, clutching the bouquet tighter. “I guess it did.”

For a while, they just stood there, the silence between them surprisingly comfortable. Then Nora tilted her head, her dark hair spilling over one shoulder. “So, Pretty boy… what do you want to know about me?”

He blinked, startled by the question. “I… uh… I don’t know. Everything, I guess?”

She smiled, her eyes sparkling. “Everything, huh? Well, I guess we’d better get started.”
