In the Shadow of S.Bennet

"What an absolutely stunning love story, filled with incredible characters, brewing chemistry, and deeply heartfelt moments. Though fictional, the story feels remarkably real, capturing the authenticity of emotions and reactions. The author’s writing is exceptional, evoking a whirlwind of emotions. I felt sadness, empathy, anger, joy, and even shed a few tears. The way the main characters’ lives intertwine is beautifully written, making their connection feel raw and genuine. Sophia’s journey through insecurity was deeply moving, but her actions toward her brother at the end truly frustrated me. Meanwhile, Andrew stole my heart from the very beginning. He’s the epitome of a true gentleman—respectful, kind, patient, and endlessly considerate, adding an irresistible dynamic to the story. This book beautifully illustrates that childhood trauma and insecurities don’t have to define you and that love has a way of finding you, even when you least expect it. A slow-burn romance worth reading. Well done, Laurie👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 "

I like

"I absolutely loved In the Shadow of S. Bennet! Andrew is the kind of male lead that steals your heart—patient, kind, and deeply respectful. He never rushes Sophia, always giving her the space she needs while showing his unwavering support. Their connection is beautifully written, full of slow-burn tension and heartfelt moments. Sophia’s journey is deeply emotional, and I loved seeing her grow, face her fears, and allow herself to love again. The writing is immersive, the romance is breathtaking, and the characters feel real. If you love a touching, slow-burn romance with a truly good man as the hero, this book is a must-read!"

Amazing story between an author and an actor !

"I just finishd the first five chapters of this story, and I’m already hooked! :) Sophia is such a relatable character, and Andrew adds this intriguing dynamic to the story. The way their worlds collide is written so beautifuly, and it feels so real. I love how the author captures both the tension and the slow build between them. Honestly, I’m dieing to know what happens next — pleeeeeaaaaase release the rest soon! This story has so much potential, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds !!"

Reading S. Bennett

"This was a lovely and graceful story - a really fun read! The writer's prose is pleasant and smooth, like late afternoon sunshine during the Golden Hour. And yes, I do mean that. Good prose is hard to find in "popular fiction." For one thing, I can actually tell the difference between characters when they speak. They have separate personalities. What a welcome change from all the werewolf love stories, with characters as interchangeable as matching furniture. I could feel the pain Sophia suffered from her crippling social phobia. (Describing her as 'shy' would be like calling scarlet fever 'being a little under the weather.') The pacing was similarly strong.I was on the edge of my metaphorical seat, wondering what would happen next - knowing full well our main characters would overcome the odds and end up happily ever after. That's a nice balancing act. In the same vein, the attraction and sexual tension between Sophia and Andrew was palpable ... but kept just restrained enough to maintain the readers' attention on the story and characters. That's the mark of an excellent writer in my book, pun intended. The only criticism I have is the same I have with so many online novels - grammar! As an editor and proofreader, nothing jolts me out of a story faster than seeing the wrong word in a sentence. It's this little thing called context! There and they're are NOT the same thing. It's as though the publisher just sent the manuscript through a quick spell check program and said, "Yep. That's probably good enough." No, it's not. It's unprofessional and does an enormous disservice to the author.I cannot tell you how many times I've read a story and wondered who gave the go ahead to post it in the shape it was in. Sorry, just had to vent for a sec. Otherwise, this was a highly entertaining and endearing love story. I look forward to reading more of the author's work."
