Chapter 1
Elena's pov
"Beep beep beep" i slam my hand down onto my alarm and groan. 4:00 am. At least i slept through most the night. I get out of bed wincing a bit, i head to the shower strip of my clothes avoiding looking in the mirror. I wash my hair and body. Getting out of the shower I head to get dressed, i go for my usual hoodie and sweats to hide the bruises. After drying my hair i head down to the kitchen being extra quite. I begin cooking bacon eggs and sausage. I put it all on a plate for my stepdad and grab my bag and head to school.
My name is Elana griffin im 16 years old. My mom recently past in a car crash. She was a horrible person but i still miss her. Its hard living with Danny my stepdad without having her here. Danny has anger issues and sometimes loses control and well that would explain my bruises. Danny wont let me eat and he wont give me any money so i can't buy lunch at school. Last week i stole a piece of bacon not thinking that Danny would count the pieces he beat me till i blacked out.
As i reach school i pull my hood over my head and walk through the doors heading to my locker, grabbing my English books and heading to class. I sit in the far back corner Trying to go unnoticed. mr. Deacon walks in the class and begins looking through his books
"Pull out your books to page 65 and begin reading" mr. Deacon says.
I begin to read my book till i feel myself drifting off. For what only feels like 5 minutes must have been the whole class. I'm woken by mr. Deacon shaking me he looks angry. "Miss griffin how many times have i told you no sleeping in my class! This explains why you are failing my class young lady! Go to the principals office now!" Mr. Deacons yells. Who pissed in his coffee this morning?
I get up and head to the principals office running into a wall I didn't know was there i fall down on my ass "ouch!" I look up and it's jake the schools popular kid a total jackass. "Oh hey pretty eyes, whatcha doing running into me? If you wanted a kiss that bad you just had to ask." Jake says. Ewww hes gross yeah i will admit he's hot really hot got those abs and thag pretty hair- stop eww what are you thinking you hate him remember??
"Im sorry jackass oops i meant jake yikes it so easy to get your name mixed with that. Sorry gotta run" i say running down the hall. I walk to the principals stopping at the door when i notice danny is in there. I begin panicking, oh no im screwed hes going to kill me i mean literally!! I calm myself down and walk in.
"Miss griffin take a seet. I want to discuss-" i space out through everything she says. "-you will be suspended for a week. That will be all" she says. Wait what they can't do that i only fell asleep. That's insane! "But you can't do that! I only fell asleep give me detention or something please!" Danny grabs my arm tightly and i stop yelling
"Your father- my step father-" i interrupt her. "Right as i was saying your stepfather Danny thinks its Best you stay home and get some rest for a week so you'll be suspended" she says. I call bullshit he just wants me home to beat me some more
"Thank you miss lilly i will be heading home with my daughter now. Im sorry for the trouble she has caused" Danny says gripping my arm tightly and walking out.
"Oh hey Elena! So since you missed history ill have to fill you in. you and me got paired together for a project. So we will have to make plans to work on it." jace says. Looking down at dannys tight grip on my arm "shes sick." Danny growls. "She doesn't looks sick" jace replys. Jace is thr new boy here he's hot sexy and those abs damn he's fine. But he'd never want someone like me. Danny starts pulling me towards the door. Danny yanks me forward which causes my shirt to rise up a bit and i pray to god that jace did not see the bruising because its bad.
Once we get home danny is mad really mad. He throws me through the door and i land on the floor With a hard thud. Ive learned to not beg for him to stop anymore let alone cry. I feel numb hes punching my stomach i hold my stomach to try and protect myself, which only makes him more angry. He grabs a empty beer bottle and hits the back of my head. After that everything becomes blurry, the last thing i see before i go unconscious is Danny grabbing a rope. Oh no not that again.
basement
I wake up to hot water being dumped on my head. I look up and see Danny with an evil grin on that ugly face of his. My hands and legs are tied down, im in the old basement i haven't been here in awhile. Theres old blood stains everywhere. this place brings back horrible memories.
"Aw darling did you miss it down here?" Danny asks. I chose not to answer him i just look down. Danny grips my chin. "When i fucking ask you a question you answer me! Got it bitch?! Otherwise ill have to call Ryan!" Danny growls. "No no no please im sorry just please dont call Ryan i beg of you." Im all but crying no not him please not him
"I don't know ill have to see how good you are" danny smiles. He starts punching me again kicking me pulling my hair doing anything he can to hurt me after hours of this i pass out.
Im currently walking or trying to walk to school i was down in that basement for a week he beat me every hour everyday. I don't know how i Survived. My whole body is purple and blue i think he broke my wrist and i twisted my ankle when he pushed me down the stairs. No makeup can hide what he did to me my eyes are black and swollen my lip is split. Ive got to go unnoticed today i have to be careful
I walk through the doors of school and head to my locker. I grab my books and head to class. And of course my first class is with jace actually he's in all of my classes. I take a chair in the very back. And you guessed it jace takes the chair next to me.
"Elena where have you been? I was worried! Not to mention but be have a project do tomorrow." Jace said. Shit im screwed. "Im sorry jace I can't do it I've got to be home early tonight" i said. "No you'll come to my house ans you'll help finish it. it wont take long." Jace said. Okay im screwed danny said i have to be home on time if not Ryan would be coming over. "Im sorry jace I can't" "yea you can you have no choice ill drive you after school" jace said just as the bell rang.
It's been a long day i forgot to bring some medicine so im in a lot of pain. School's finally over so i start walking home. "Hey hop in" Jace pulled up on his bike. "I really have no choice do i?" I ask. "Nope" he smirks. Damn that's hot- no no dont even that's not ew stop. I get onto the motorcycle and after about 15 minutes we pull into a huge house. Damn hes Rich!
We head inside and go up to what im assuming is his room. Wow hes got a nice room. I go tl his bed and pull out our stuff for the project, i get distracted in it i didn't notice him come up. He places his hand on my shoulder and i flinch hard. Damnit Elena!
"What the fuck was that?!" Jace growl's. Oh damn he's angry. "Uh nothing you uh just scared me thats all sorry" i stutter out. "Elana dont you lie to me" jace begs. I look up at him for the first time and he gasps. I guess i didn't hide it well enough with the makeup.
"Elana what the fuck happened to you?!" Jace yells with so much anger and concern in his voice. "I- i- i got into a fight 3 against me im fine" i say. He looks like he doesn't want to believe me. "Elana promise me you aren't lying?" Jace begs. Oh no dont give me that face i dont want to lie im sorry jace "y- yes i promise Jace" damnit damnit damnit i cannot believe I lied.
After that me and jace spend hours finishing the project once we are done i look at the time and its 11 shit im screwed! "Jace I gotta go shit im sorry i have to go now fuck fuck fuck I screwed up!" I start yelling at myself running out the door. Jace comes running out, looking worried. "Come ill drive you" i hop on jaces bike and we head towards my house. I notice Danny's car isn't there shit I'm screwed. He went looking for me. Shit
"Uh thanks for the ride bye!" I yell as i run to the house. "Anytime call me if you need me!" He yells.
I go inside and everything is a mess broken beer bottles, broken dishes, the place is a wreck fuck i screwed up!
