Chapter 1
Alex had always been the quiet, reserved type. He kept to himself, buried in his books and studies. But despite his introverted nature, he had a secret: he had a crush on Nick, the hottest guy in college.
Nick was the star quarterback, with chiseled features and piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through you. Alex couldn’t help but feel drawn to him, but he was too scared to confess his feelings.
Instead, Alex resorted to writing Nick anonymous love letters. He would pour his heart out onto the page, telling Nick how much he admired him, how much he wanted to be with him. And then, under the cover of darkness, Alex would sneak into the locker room and slip the letter into Nick’s locker.
It became a ritual for Alex, a way for him to express his feelings without risking rejection. But it was also a source of anxiety, as he constantly worried that Nick would discover his secret.
One day, Alex’s worst fears came true. As he was slipping a letter into Nick’s locker, he heard a voice behind him.
“Hey, what are you doing?”
Alex spun around to see Nick and his friend, Jake, standing in the doorway. Nick’s eyes narrowed, and Alex felt his face grow hot with shame.
“I...I was just...” Alex stuttered, unable to come up with a convincing excuse.
Jake, a tall, lanky guy with a mischievous grin, stepped forward. “Dude, I think I know what’s going on here,” he said, his voice dripping with amusement.
Nick raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about, Jake?”
Jake chuckled. “I think our little nerd friend here has a crush on you, Nick.”
Alex’s heart sank. He felt like he was going to die from embarrassment. Nick’s eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, Alex thought he saw a flicker of surprise, maybe even curiosity.
But then Nick’s face broke out into a wide grin. “Well, well, well,” he said, chuckling. “Look at that.”
Jake burst out laughing. “Dude, you’re like a secret admirer or something!”
Alex felt like he was going to throw up. He turned and ran, not stopping until he was out of the locker room and back in the safety of his own dorm room.
He collapsed onto his bed, feeling like he’d just been punched in the gut. Why had he been so stupid? Why had he thought he could keep his secret hidden?
As he lay there, feeling sorry for himself, Alex heard a knock at the door. He hesitated for a moment before getting up to answer it.
To his surprise, it was Nick. He was standing in the doorway, a curious expression on his face.
“Hey,” Nick said, his voice low and smooth. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
Alex’s heart skipped a beat. What did Nick want to talk to him about? Had he come to mock him, to tease him about his secret crush?
But as Alex looked into Nick’s eyes, he saw something there that gave him hope. Maybe, just maybe, Nick wasn’t as oblivious as Alex had thought. Maybe he’d even felt a spark of attraction himself.
Alex stepped aside, allowing Nick to enter. As he closed the door behind him, Alex felt a sense of trepidation...
What was Nick going to say to him? And how would Alex respond?
