Chapter 1

Imagine living alone in a small apartment with no one to rely on. I mean what if someone tries breaking in through the very fragile window bars, or what if someone tries to rape you at night when you’re all alone, or someone is spying on you to secretly get information about you then kidnaps you, then rape you and sells you to a drug lord.........

Sorry about that.

I’m Yvonne Sanderson. A soon to be eighteen years old. I apologize for that horrible first impression. They were thoughts which were sealed up in my head. You see, I live alone in Meadow street, California. My parents separated when I was 15, so that was practically the beginning of my abandonment.

My dad got remarried to a hot model who was like 10 years older than I am, and I am pretty sure she was just after his money, but who cares anyway? He’ll be fucked up before anyone would be able to spell Massachusetts. My mom lost her sanity and went into gambling and drinking. She lost money more than she earned. Since i was in dad’s custody, he bought a small apartment for me while he and his new wife moved to Los Angeles.

Earlier, I might have mentioned “Fragile windows” I was literally exaggerating. It might even be stronger than my own future O_O

“Open the door b!tch.” I heard someone say at the front door. I opened it to find my one and only friend, Keziah, who stood there frowning.

“What’s up? Why the frowning face?” I asked as she stormed in.

“Well, I wouldn’t be if I wasn’t stood up by someone.”

It was either the introduction took a lot of time or I spent a lot of time in the bathroom.

“I’m so sorry, I totally forgot. Besides I told you to call me when you are on your way.” I tried to defend myself.

“I did, check your phone.” she said as I ran upstairs to take it from where I was charging it. I’m pretty sure having 27 missed calls wasn’t a big deal.

“I promise that next lunch would be on me.” I tried to console her.

“Better.”

HEY CUTIES, IT SEEMS VERY SHORT RIGHT?

I’M LITERALLY CRYING RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE FUTURE THIS BOOK UPHOLDS.

SINCE ITS CHRISTMAS, 2024 I’LL TRY MY VERY BEST TO POST A LOT BEFORE THE NEW YEAR.

Biva: Quite good for a novella. Impressive writing style and we'll edited. Just one thing- Karla keeps referring herself to a stray cat and while at first it makes sense the analogy gets stale after a while.
