Summary

Luck is a funny thing, isn't it? Some people experience their happily ever afters, while others, well, they just don't receive as much favor. Take a look into the world of the souls whose paths have crossed things some might find monstrous, creepy, twisted, and deranged. I guess not everyone has the opportunity to ride off into the sunset; some are left to sit and wallow in the darkness. How tragically sad, how utterly horrific, how... unfortunate. A horror short story collection.

Introduction

*** This is an introduction to the narrator, who will add depth to these short stories through the author’s notes. I recommend starting here for a fully engaging experience, but feel free to skip to Chapter One if you prefer to just dive in.***

*** The introduction does not accurately represent the true writing style of the stories within the collection, as it is written in the format of a letter.***

I hope you enjoy the ride.

Happy Reading.

As always, Love and Light.

Why hello there,

I haven’t seen you here before...

No, I haven’t... I’m sure of it... I would remember, yes, I would definitely remember.

I remember everyone... but that’s neither here nor there. I’m sincerely glad you came. I just love it when people visit. It adds a bit of light to this dark and lonely place.

It’s nice to have someone stop by from the land of the living, in the traditional sense at least. You see, my typical visitors are usually...different... and quite otherworldly.

See this, now this is refreshing. Visitors like you are truly unique.

Oh, wow, I completely forgot! You must simply excuse my rudeness ... this is an introduction, and I haven’t even given you my name.

I’m Mezzy, and I’m the storyteller here in this world of terror, mystery, and collection of chilling tales.

I’ve been stuck in this dungeon for ages, telling stories to those who love a good scare.

How’d I get here?

Wouldn’t you like to know? But this isn’t about me, it’s about your entertainment, and I, my dear friend, promise to deliver some of the best stories I’ve had the pleasure of coming across during my time here.

I will go along with you for the ride. I just love reliving these stories, seeing them suffer, watching the betrayal, laughing while they revel in their angst... I mean, I just like sharing stories... he-he.

Sorry, I get a bit carried away sometimes.

I blame my zodiac sign.

It’s quite a joy telling newcomers about people who unfortunately ran into the less expected, leaving us with glimpses into their unusual experiences that are truly... special.

You can find me in the author’s notes, sharing my thoughts with you along the way.

That’s right, you get a personal narrator from the very dungeon of the archives. Who could ever be a better guide?

Books mysteriously appear in my dungeon, and anonymous individuals update some stories in the online archive. I’m just trapped working here, so I don’t have all the answers.

As we delve into these stories of the strange, the twisted, and the unfortunate, we will surely meet all kinds of creatures- those that exist in legends, and some completely unheard of, patiently waiting to make their grand debut.

The best thing about it is that there’s only one rule here: Never be afraid to get a little scared.

The irony, right?

I love it.

It’s been way too long since I’ve had company, so I’ve sorted through all of my favorites and thought you might enjoy these particular stories.

I’ve selected the narratives surrounding individuals from all walks of life and different backgrounds, because what’s life without diversity and inclusion?

That’s right, I’m progressive, even after being locked away for such a long time...

But once again, it’s not about me, and I feel like I’m rambling. Let’s get to it, turn that page, or swipe to chapter one because I have a gut feeling that these characters might just be literally dying to meet you.

I hope you get terrified.

I mean, good luck!

Ha-ha.

-Mezzy
