Not Your Typical Princess

Summer isn't your typical princess, she doesn't want to marry a prince, she wants to stop a war between the humans and dragons. She wants to save the lives of her people. But things take a turn when Prince Charming comes as a pair of young Dragon Lords and she is destined to be theirs. Ebony and Gold are beautiful together, but the arrogance of the twins sets her teeth on edge and Summer is determines to prove she is worth more than silk gowns and something soft and warm in bed. She is a warrior and she will save her people, in spite of her overbearing mates.

This book had me laughing, raging, and sometimes sad, but it is a wonderful journey into the world of dragon overlords and the humans who are trying to survive them.

Evil vampire overlords and innocent humans

Evil vampire overlords and innocent humans who aren't always so innocent. Erik seemed nice at the start but then fell into the evil Alpha male trope. It got kinda bipolar after a while.
Suggestion to the author - Try showing the story to us than telling us the story. Sometimes it seemed like the main character was telling herself the story in first person.
Good luck with your writing.

Please free your trope goats.

Dear Author,
I am sorry but WHY? Why did you write this story with no original worldbuilding, character building, or plotting?
I love werewolf books too, but this one needs so much work that it barely made it to my Ch5 DNF Limit. (I did start Ch 6 because Ch 5 was so short but I did not finish it, the cringe was too much.)
There are so many problems I don't know where to begin. Please Free Your Trope Goats and only keep a few. Clichés and Tropes are like strong spices, aka to be used very sparingly for flavor, no more than 3-5 per book, not per chapter. Save the Cat, Romancing the Beat, The Heroine's Journey, and So You Want To Write Fantasy are the craft books where you need to start. For Ch 6 - The Beginner's Basic Guide to Writing Erotica on Medium will help take the cringe out, and you might consider trigger warnings. I am not going to go into anything about the grammar, punctuation, or misused words like crowed instead of crowd in Ch 1. Technical writing is hard to master.
Good Luck on your writing journey, sorry I couldn't finish your story.

Waiting for the sequel.

The title should say enough.

This thrilling twisting tale of werewolves and those who are not just werewolves, of deities and demi-gods blending so perfectly the mythologies of the Northlands. A story of two brothers at war for eons and how one used the other to create something evil that then took on a 'life' of its own. Eabha struggled to adjust to no longer being a nomad, to finding a place in the pack, and Hati's heart, but with all the revelations at the end. . . I am waiting for the sequel. I am waiting until the spring.

Promising but needs polishing

I am giving a developmental critique here.
The first chapter is a little info-dumpy. Are you discovery writing or did you plot this?
I am enjoying the world building but there are some obvious gaps.
The voices of the characters do not seem like 22 year-olds, they seem like much younger teens (this includes the parents/adults). Also The green-eyed entity needs to have a distinctly different voice, maybe something older and more formal.
I think the Luna-Anna relationship would work better as step-siblings because it would better explain the way they swing back and forth from Close friends to Hostile frenemies. Instead of asking Luna if she likes Anna after finding the mirror broken, maybe her mother can ask her to be patient with Anna because her father is still missing or something. She could also ask if Luna wants her to stop playing matchmaker because she likes Will. After Anna's death, Will saw the same thing in China so it doesn't make sense that Luna doesn't confide in him about what she saw Anna become or what she did. A better reason for Anna's mother to becoming hostile toward her needs to be shown, unless she has been affected by the entity too then maybe make the change in mannerism more subtle, maybe Luna thinking she saw her eyes turn green or black from the side or hearing her mother talking to a mirror. Either her mother needs to be grieving with her or patronizing and slowly turning against her.
There were a lot of grammar issues with verb tenses changing suddenly, sometimes in the same sentence. Passive voice pops up a lot. The use of outdated slang terms (which can be left out as they date the story) give the writing the feeling to hard to be trendy and dates it.
Voices and Verbs are my most recommended changes. As I said in the beginning the worldbuilding is creating an intriguing place where the reader knows something is very wrong. Keep working on it Juliana, you can work out the rough patches easily enough. Good luck.

Serlina plays the unexpected heroine who comes into her own, falls in love, and basically kicks butt and takes names while having some raucously hysterical interactions with her mate and cohorts. Fight scenes and pop-up enemies get a little repetitive but this is a fun weekend read for anyone longing to escape the 2020s mayhem and stress..

Again the Amazing Julie Midnighter stuns us with an amazing worldbuild that is in the same world as the Monsterous Hearts series but it is totally new! Poor, socially awkward Fluer was abducted and almost eaten by witches, an experience that left her soul tainted and her psyche scarred. Enter a literally Drop-Dead gorgeous warlock she accidentally released from existence as a cursed tree and the quest is on to free them both from being bound together and to their pasts. Healing moments or hot scenes, this story will keep you reading.

Sorry, I couldn't go further.

Decades of abuse don't vanish in an afternoon no matter what justification is given. Cookie-cutter tropes and insta-fogiveness made this a DNF. Sorry, I couldn't go any further. The writing style is very youthful but continuity errors show a lack of worldbuilding. May I recommend Save the Cat or The Plot Garden for your future writing plans.

Humphrey Bogart wishes he had writers this good.

Another completely amazing book by Julie Midnight.

Illegal Magic, A salty Werewolf Detective, and A flighty Human Heiress who is really all brains and sass... Chasing down a missing man, they stumble onto a cult led by a mad man and the corruption of the werewolf king... All the bits of a good mystery, romance, and the old Bogart movies. I love this one so much and the moment it is printed, I am putting it on my shelf next to the others!

Another amazing tale

Wolves, Agents, and Werecats, oh my.
The continuation of the saga of Arrowhead Pack through Maria's story as the last of her kind after the Sons were taken down brings in the author's love of governmental conspiracies and overreach. Finding sanctuary with the pack and Brotherhood, Maria copes with she and her niece being the last werejaguars, after her crazy uncle is taken from prison by a rogue CIA element who want them and their goddess given gift under their control. With the President on Arrowhead's side after her husband's abduction and assassination, this one has all the spy-thriller element of Angel Has Fallen or Airforce One. BUT don't forget the Pack Pools and the Motorcycles, there are some beautiful side trips into the world of tour riding around Wolfie's beloved Great Lakes. It feels like could visit the world of Arrowhead Pack and the Steel Brotherhood.

Alice and Colton have more than love

There are so many werewolf series but this one is as far above them as the moon is from the bottom of the sea. Alice and Colton are a love story as old as time and even when the worst has happened and madness has over come our black wolf, there is still a glimmer of hope on the full moon (no spoilers!).
The characters are rich and believable, the world building is perfection, and the plot has enough twists and turns to keep even the most thrill seeking reader intrigued. If you can take a week to binge read the entire series, it would be totally worth the time invested.

the usual trope :\

I usually don't review after five chapters but I want to beg the writer to try something more original. She has a sweet lilt to her writing style which would suit a well-plotted story with original elements. This is the usual fashionista teen wolf cliche meets big bad Blood Alpha trope. A decent guilty pleasure werewolf genre read for those who need a mindless escape after a bad day and like the predictability of the usual teen shewolf / heartless alpha mate story with a glass of spirits and a bubble bath but nothing that hasn't been written ten thousand times on Inkitt or Watt pad. I know there are those who love this cliche, but honestly I feel this author could do better with some story development.

Diary of an unguided life

A very interesting short read about a young life's struggle that feels IRL. The very upfront first person style is more like the reader is listening to someone give a summary of their life rather than reading a narrative. I liked it because life doesn't have a plot. The struggles were met, temptations fallen to, changes made, and despite the almost apathy of the narrator in some parts of the reciting, the reader still feels for the MC...

They say it's the journey...

They say it is the journey that it important, but behind every journey is a heart that beats. Mahila's journey from orphan girl with a broken heart to strong woman with a determined will and sacred gift to be reckoned with was not an easy one. It was as much searching for her mother's people as it is running from the constant beating her heart takes. Taking the first step of a journey is never easy, and realizing you haven't reached last step means giving up the place that felt like home. Some paths are harder than others, and the path to healing one's heart is the rockiest of all.

I think this is one of my favorite stories. The world Layla create is richer and as real as any I've read. Her characters are intricate, living, flawed, and striving. To love them, to hate them, to feel their regret and hope makes this a wonderful narrative without equal.
