the prophecies
Many thousands of years ago, High Lord Kaleth’s mother, the High Oracle Yllumina wrote a book using the ancient Temple of Light language. A book of prophecies meant for one generation.
“The Guardian goeth to the light,
The Peacekeeper cometh from the light.
For the sake of the Light and Love,
The Guardian shall return on the dawn of Darkness,
To the fight against the birth of the One to bring the End.”
Daisy’s voice shook as she read and translated from the oldest dialect of Aetherian she knew.
“When the Noblest One falls asleep, he shall pick up a sword of light.
The Dark Ones shall be the vessels of Shadows.
Their king shall become a Lord of a High House, seeking to open the Gate.
The Oracle’s light will burn bright with the Sacred Flame
as a beacon to all whose hearts are pure.
The Celestial Guardian and his knights will cross the Veil
to stab at the Heart of Darkness when the walls between the realms wear thin.”
“What exactly does that mean?” Darcy asked.
“Kaleth died to become the highest rank of a Celestial Knight, and eventually he comes back to kill the Devourer,” Yuri answered plainly. “And Damien will fill his followers with the shadow ghosts of the Xelusians. The device powered by Daisy and Kars’ magics will be the thing that draws the Celestial Knights to aid us when the Devourer tries to escape.”
The prophecies warn of the same thing. Theirs is the last generation to stand against the Devourer and its shadows, they have already seen what happens if they fail but can they keep time from repeating? Or will they be forced to use Daisy’s second chance device to gain more time? Too many questions and too little time...
