The Awakening

The forest was alive around me, the wind was cold which sent a chill down my spine. Moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silver patterns on the ground, the moon was something that will never cease to amaze me, it made darkness fucking beautiful. The air was thick with the scent of pine and earth, but another scent cut through it, it was like wild fruits, pines, and cinnamon,it was intoxicating.

My heart pounded as I stepped deeper into the woods. I should’ve stayed with Ev. I knew that. But something, no, someone, had called me here. The pull was visceral, like an invisible thread tied around my soul, dragging me toward him.I just knew where to go.

And then, he was there.

He stepped out from the trees, his warm amber eyes shining with a mysterious understanding that drew me in. He smirked sending a shiver down my spine. I could see his broad shoulders through the darkness and his presence was overwhelming. There was a tension between us that was so suffocating, and for the first time in my fucking life, I didn't know what to say.

“I was wondering when you’d come,” he said, his voice was low and smooth almost like a soft purr. “Seraphine the Tribrid.”

I crossed my arms, trying to look unaffected. But the way he said my name like it belonged to him, made my stomach tighten and my fist clench. “Don’t flatter yourself. I didn’t come for you.”

He tilted his head, dark hair falling over his forehead. That fucking smirk deepened. “Didn’t you? Then why are you here, sweetheart? Alone, in the middle of the night?”

I had no answer. Not one I was willing to admit.

“You’re playing a dangerous game, walk away now,” I said

He took a step closer. I stepped back, hitting the rough bark of a tree. Shit. He didn’t stop, closing the space between us until his heat wrapped around me like a second skin, I could feel it, the energy was palpable and fuck it felt good, my body was literally calling to him.

His breath brushed my ear. “Dangerous is my specialty. But you already knew that, didn’t you darling?”

My pulse betrayed me. I was burning, my body aching in ways I didn’t want to name, admit or even think about.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, move or I'll move you using my fucking blades” I lied.

He chuckled a low sound that vibrated through me. “Liar.” His hand brushed a strand of hair from my face, fingers trailing over my cheek. “You feel it, don’t you? The bond. The pull. Fuck It’s impossible to resist.”

I shook my head, but the truth was undeniable. Something dark, primal, and inescapable linked us. And it terrified me.

“I don’t want this,” I whispered, but it lacked conviction.

His eyes slowly searched mine, the smirk fading just slightly. “You don’t have to lie to me, Sera. I can see it in your eyes. You want me just as much as I want you.”

“ Ev—” I started, but Ronan cut me off with a quiet laugh.

“Erevan isn’t here,” he murmured, his lips a whisper away from mine. “It’s just you and me, Sera. And this, my Sera?” His fingers traced my jaw, tilting my chin up. “This is inevitable. Tell me you don't want me to kiss you right now”

My resolve crumbled.

His lips met mine, and it was like a dam breaking. The kiss was fierce and raw, it was like a battle neither of us wanted to win. His hands tangled in my hair roughly, pulling me closer. I pressed against him, my body acting on instinct, on need.

He deepened the kiss, his tongue teasing mine, and I moaned into his mouth. His hands slid down my back, gripping my ass, lifting me easily. My back hit the tree, but I barely noticed. I was too lost in him.

“Tell me you feel it,” he growled against my lips. “Tell me you want this.”

I wanted to resist. To hold onto my pride. But the words spilled out before I could stop them. “ fuck Yes.” and before I knew it I was grinding on his dick while biting down his bottom lip

Ronan groaned, a sound of pure satisfaction, and his lips moved to my neck. He nipped and sucked, sending jolts of pleasure down my spine. His fangs grazed my skin,a dangerous reminder of what he was. What we were, and suddenly my wolf came out, and she knew his name.

“Ronan,” I gasped, gripping his shoulders. I needed something to hold onto.

His golden eyes burned with hunger as he pulled back just enough to look at me. “You’re mine, Sera,” he said, voice rough. “You know that, don’t you?”

Before I could answer, the snap of footsteps cut through the night.

Ronan stiffened. His head turned toward the noise. I didn’t need to look. I already knew who it was.

“Sera!” Erevan’s voice was sharp, urgent.

Ronan’s lips curled into a smirk, but his eyes darkened. “Looks like your watchdog’s here darling.”

I pushed against his chest, trying to create space, but he held firm, his gaze locking onto mine. “This isn’t over,” he murmured, his voice a promise. “I will be back for you.”

And then, he was gone, vanishing into the shadows like he had never been there at all.

Erevan burst into the clearing, golden eyes wild. “Sera! Are you—?” He stopped short, his gaze locking onto the marks Ronan had left on my skin while his nose was sniffing the air around us. His expression darkened.

“What the hell happened, what the actual fuck?”

I opened my mouth, but the words wouldn’t come. How could I explain this? That I had let another man, Ronan, touch me. That I had wanted him.Shit i was looking at Ev but thinking about him.

“Ev, I…”

He shook his head sharply. “Don’t.” His voice was tight with anger and something worse—hurt. “Just… don’t.”

He turned away, and I felt the weight of his disappointment like a physical blow. I wanted to reach out, to make this right, but there were no words that could fix what had just happened.

The bond between us was once unshakable, but now, it felt fragile.

And as we walked away, I felt it again the pull, the bond, Ronan—calling to me like a siren’s song. All I could think about was when I was going to see him again.
