Chapter 1
The story I am about to tell happens after The Night in the murder in the dressing room A few Weeks Back The Trail Started on October 14th 1967. I Was in the witness box Telling the Judge and Jury the events about that day. Prosecutor Knew this was an open and shut Case. Dorothy Morre was whispering to her lawyer Benny Hawkins. When The Prosecutor Tom Vickers was finished asking his questions Benny Hawkins asked me “If you’re saying you were in the dressing room until my client was arrested How did you arrest her?” I said “I didn’t. That task was Given to Officer Sanders”. Benny Hawkins said “So You were not there when she was arrested?” I said “No i wasn’t It was only Officer Sanders that made the first arrest” Benny Hawkins Said “I have no more questions”. The Judge Said We will Take a fifteen minutes Break For Everyone can Have Lunch and Tom Vickers you will bring up your Next witness Officer Leroy Sanders. I saw Sanders outside. He was Getting a Sandwich from a Deli next door. I stopped and said “Hey Sanders You Good? It Looks like you saw a Ghost? Sanders said “I’m Not sure The Benney Hawkins reminds me of someone but I cannot put my finger on it” he walked off into the courthouse So me and Vickers got out food and a cup of coffee. So when we returned, Judge Tony Barton called for Leroy Sanders. I Looked over at him and he had his head down. The Judge Called him again but he didn’t move So I stood up and walked over and when I shaked him he fell forward. You could have heard a Pin drop when I lifted my head up and said ”I’m sorry Judge But I don’t Think he will be able to testify.” Judge Barton asked ”Why is he unable to testify?” I turn my head to him and I said “ Judge Barton He has Been Stabbed in the Neck and He is Dead” One of The Jury members Got up and Ran up to us saying “I’m a doctor let me have a Look” He checked his Pulse and Said “I agree He is No longer with us” I Turn my head and said “Judge Barton I think We need to have a recess until I solve it”. Judge said “I have you until six O’clock to solve this Recess until Six” he slammed his gavel Down Then Vickers walked up and said ”Damn Looks like we lost our witness. I’ll let you get to work then. I said “Okay and before you go, who is left handed?” Vickers said “Me, Judge Barton, The bailiff Tom and Benny Hawkins” I said “ I want to talk to Judge in his office when he has time” I walked outside of The courtroom and Walked to the Front Desk and I borrowed a Phone and Called Medical Examiner. When I was Finished I Ordered A handful of Officers to search The Courthouse to find The Murder weapon. After a Few Hours Officer Leroy Sanders Was Place in a Body bag and Rolled out I was Thinking How did Someone Sneak a Knife into The Courthouse.
