1. Ella

Some moments feel fake.

Even if you were alive in them once, they feel like a faint memory now.

For Ella, this mere line was the description of her entire being.

She was a princess, living a life of pride. She was ruling the world on her tips. She could have anything just by a gesture of hand.

She had servants that were there every moment to serve her. She had a bodyguard who would protect her with their life. She had everything. Everything a mind could think of. Once flourished in jewels and now thrown to the side of the road in dirt.

That life, that feeling of being at the top of this world was nothing more than an illusion to her. A wrecking illusion, breaking the bubble of her dreams.

Sometimes, Ella finds herself wondering if she was one living that living that life. If she was the girl in all of those moments? She fears a no as reply but a yes could leave her dead without the use of a weapon.

Maybe she was living in a dream before. Maybe she has crossed a parallel universe after some accident or maybe that life never existed at all. Something had to be there. Some explanation that could convince her that it was real.

Even after months of living this miserable life. Running from one place to another, begging herself to bear this curse for another day. The life where she always had a painless purse and an empty stomach, she was unable to believe that it had happened and everything was gone.

Ella was standing at a corner of the school grounds. The winter was taking its initial breaths. The weather was soothing. She was breathing in the air, calmly unlike the thunder in her brain.

Standing there, in a state that made her disgusted enough to kill herself, it wasn't hard to believe that she had crashed to the ground. Her clothes weren't cleaned to perfection like they used to be. Of course, a girl born with a silver spoon won't sit right in the costume of a maid even for just herself. Things have become different now. The items that fetched her interest to themselves weren't the exclusive bag she had to buy before it was gone or the limited edition shoe she knew was about to launch, it was desperation to eat a warm meal.

Ella Harrison has hit the rock bottom by every definition. The life of this princess has fallen into poverty.

A few months ago, she was the spoiled daughter of a legendary attorney. David Harrison. She had many friends, almost too many. Her finger digits couldn't hold the count. She was the most popular girl in the law school. She was cherished by every single person, if not by her— extremely uncherishable character then by money. Everyone loved her or her money but it all took its last breaths with the death of her father. They were killed to be exact, both, her father and the love.

With her father, the money that made her famous was gone too, taking her friends or fake friends to the dump and it was how Ella was thrown to a side as an extra

She had absolutely no one to rely on. No one to look upto or feel safe with. She had to bear everything by herself. Everything. The bullying at the school and the unbearable pain by the death of the person she had no words to describe.

For Ella, her father was her world. She had never seen her mother. She died long ago and she has no memories of her. Despite not having a mother she never felt her absence much because her father was both a mother and a father to her. He had been taking care of her like she was the most precious gem he had. The bond was too beautiful, too strong that even death couldn't take a mere amount of it from her heart.

Ella's father was a man everyone fears. A person in front of whom no criminal can stand with straight legs. He hadn’t touched a gun to hurt anyone because the law was enough to make people pee in their pants. He was a terrifyingly successful lawyer. No lawyer had been born till this day that could beat him.

David Harrison has never lost a case in his life and this success was the reason why he is dead.

Ella has her theories and she is almost sure who killed her father three months ago. She has always been remarkable in her studies but now she didn't need the law degree only to become a lawyer, she needed it to finish her father's work and hang his murderers to death.

She had a burning passion. A desire that could burn them all alive.

The last year of the law school was closing its edges. The nights were becoming restless as her sleeping hours were dropped on the cascade. Only a few months were left. Just some weeks and after it, she would have the power and a position to begin the planning on her revenge.

Her body burns every time the words hit her head, revenge. That was what she had to take. Doesn't matter if she was capable of it yet.

She was staring at the students now. She was just distracting her mind from making her give up on only the thought of it—

She stared at them, having fun with their friends. She remembers these faces. They used to beg her to hang out with them. Ella wasn't really disappointed in her

of friends as it was the money they liked because as a person, she would consider herself awful.

She had a sick attitude.

She has been trying her very best to control it but she was helpless. This attitude has made her lose many jobs and left her with a box-size convenience store with a boss that was a tormentor.

She was poor, broke, needy, helpless and all the words that were once cringed at her could be used to illustrate her current state.

Ella didn't even have money to buy food from the cafeteria and that was why she decided to let herself breathe for some moments when her tummy was only filled with air.

She had cup noodles in the morning and begged her belly to stop asking for more. She couldn't sit in class when her stomach was growling from hunger.

There were still five minutes till the next lecture. So, she had no choice but to stand there and look at those happy faces while hers was wilting like a flower.

“Hey” Someone called. The voice melted her with it. It was warm and rich, sending delightful shivers down her body.

She turned around, her heart went still for a second, wanting to see the honor of that deep voice and then she froze by the bare sight of him. “Do you know where Mr. Witacker’s class is?” She didn't hear what he was saying because her body refused to use any sense other than the sight. She wanted to just look at him, look at that pair of ash eyes. So deep and still looking so light. The stare was sharp, she was amazed how she was still holding eye contact.

This guy, he was dangerously handsome. His face was carved like perfection. His hair was black, eyes gray, encircled by an intense black ring.

There was a mark on his left eye, tearing his brow till the end of his lashes.

He was immensely attractive and utterly terrifying. His look was similar to a gangster and just a second later her brain crashed a cursed reminder to her and she realized whom she was staring at.

It was indeed a gangster.

She has seen this face. The confirmation left her in shock and unknowingly she fell a step back. The guy looked at her with an astonished gaze. Not because in any way possible, he knew her but because her hood fell off and her hair showed.

Ella swallowed the air hard, she could care about anything at that moment but her hair because she was standing in front of Alex Willard aka Hawk.

A member of the club. Eclipse.

Ella didn't know it because his identity was something they showed on the Internet but she knows this, she knows him because she had seen his face over and over again in her house.

Her father was a public lawyer against Eclipse. A club that was a threat to this society. An organization that was filled with every type of filth and crime. And her father's involvement with this club was the exact reason why he was dead.

Ella became unable to move, frozen on the spot because one of the murderers of her father was standing in front of her

“Hey, where have you gone?” That voice came to her again and she jerked her head. She didn't know what to do. At the time when she had to be more confident than ever, she started to panic. She was thinking of an escape and she was incapacitated to locate one.

Maybe she should attack him, but she had nothing to fight with, not even skills. Maybe she should be calling the police, but a good reason for not doing it was she had no evidence.

She knew his identity but she could not prove it. After all, all the data her father and Daniel had collected was stolen.

“Hey, Blue head. I am asking you something” Her brain stopped thinking about everything all at once. A wave of anger ignited in her body out of nowhere. She was not a bluehead. Her hair was the deepest and the most beautiful shade of blue just like her eyes. The color that is reminiscent of the ocean under the dark night sky. Something so captivating that required a sense of awe to see its beauty and not many people could see how perfect it was on her. After a while of trying not to take offense, she realized that her hair was still exposed and the black hood was gone.

“Umm… yeah. I- I know” She said, adjusting the hood back and covering her hair. Only if she had money, she would have changed her hair to black or brown or something that does not draw attention when she tries to hide.

“Can you tell me where it is?” his voice sounded commanding and she wasn't sure of the outcome of her silence.

“Yeah” She nodded her head fast and by some funny miracle it was the same class that she had just now “You can follow me,” Alex nodded his head, adjusted the bag over his shoulder and his eyes didn't leave her when he did so.

Ella almost feared that look. In a second, she turned around and started to walk. She felt Alex following her. He was silent as he walked behind her, she could feel those eyes, buried in her. His breaths were deep, reaching her ears and just then she realized that there were a hell lot of other things she should be thinking about.

Her mind started. She should do something. If not the police she should  call Danial and tell him about seeing Hawk. He was the only person whom she could trust or at least try to trust.

Danial was someone special to her. He was the only one in this world that was left for her but he had gone to another state and she had failed to contact him for  months now. She could find him, it felt like a lie when she said it. Maybe through a mutual friend, there was none.

There should be a way to contact him. There could be something—

Ella had a lot of things to talk about but the class was already here and Alex was still behind her.

She stopped her brain from thinking about everything at once and walked into the classroom. She nodded her head so that he could know they were in the right room. He was standing by her and through a corner of her eyes, she saw him giving the nod back

“Thank you, Princess” Alex said, she lifted her face and looked at him with wide eyes. Everyone used to call her by this name but it was rare. As rare as nothing and a new student from a different school was calling her by it was impossible to happen.

Alex could not know this name because he had never met Ella. She stood still, staring at him and he gave her a half-lip smile. It was a smirk. Something he did on purpose to mock her and just by that Alex walked away to take an empty seat and by the same funny miracle, there was just one free place in the class and it was; behind Alex

“What the hell is happening?” She muttered under her breath, got no answer, stood there for a moment and students were staring at her.

They stares at her, taunts smiles at her and say anything pathetic their mouth can fit. She was not ready for the show just now. She couldn't defend herself in front of all of them so she got her steps straight and just walked to that place.

Alex wasn't looking at her. Even though she couldn't stop staring at him for a second, he was never staring back. Probably because of the Twins. They were sitting by his sides and talking with him “So, you have finally given Veritas Law School a thought huh?” It was Jake, the one with light brown hair, green eyes, and a small face. Alex didn't say anything but nodded a bit “Are you here on a mission or something?” the other twin said. It was extremely rare to happen but because of a mutation, the twins had different eyes. Joe had messy golden hair and black eyes.

Jake looked at him with a burning gaze “Stop with that, Bro. I am in no mood to start a fight yet” Jake said defensively. “Kidding, Jay. Why are you making it so serious?” Joe laughed with his words. He has always been a little sarcastic and probably that was what he was doing there.

Ella was not interested in their talk but there were thoughts knocking her mind.

By the look, Alex doesn't seem like someone who likes to be social or have many friends. After a long moment of thinking, she reached a conclusion.

Alex knows the Twins.

And by that little conversation, she believed that this was related to Eclipse. On the top of it the twins have always been mysterious to her.

They never tried to engage with Ella. Not even in her ruling era, when everyone bowed to her, they stayed feet apart. It was easy to crack the code.

The questions were now thundering in her head.

Do the twins have some sort of connection with The Eclipse? Did Alex get transferred to their law school because of some mission?

Does the twins have a hidden motive as well?

Have they always known Ella was David's daughter and that's why they never came near her?

If the answer to that question was a yes  then Ella was in the worst scenario possible.

Three murderers from the club that killed her father and she was sitting behind them all.
