Figuring it Out
Me and Redbeard looked at the strange map on the old stained parchment. Redbeard, scratched his head with his hook, having lost his right hand in a fight with a shark years ago. He turned to me and said, “Lanky, we must decipher this map and become rich,”. “Whatever you say master, so where to,” I asked Redbeard.
Redbeard squinted at the map with his good eye, trying to make sense of the squiggly lines and weird drawings. “Arrr, Lanky, we are heading east, to the big island with the palm trees and the buried treasure!” he declared with a grin, showing his weirdly pink tooth. I nodded excited to be on a real adventure with Redbeard, even though he needed to remember where he put things. We packed up our stuff which included a lot of extra hooks, maps, and snacks (pirates get hungry, too never forget that pirates)and set sail on the creaky old ship, which I named the “SHIP THAT’S ABOUT TO SET SAIL” I know, great name right, no need to clap, but Redbeard named it “THE SAILER” even though it’s not a great name.
