"Jeon, What the Hell?!"
Evie stood outside the bathroom door, her patience hanging by a thread as she banged her fist against the wooden surface. "Jungkook, what the hell are you even doing in there?!" she shouted, exasperation dripping from her voice.
Her beloved husband had been locked inside for the past thirty minutes, supposedly getting ready for their friend's anniversary gathering. But at this rate, they were going to miss the entire event.
She glanced at the clock—6:45 PM. They had to be there by 7 PM, and neither of them was fully dressed yet.
Well, correction—she wasn’t ready yet. And whose fault was that?
Their adorable, mischievous, and ridiculously energetic five-year-old, Jae.
The little gremlin had turned getting dressed into a full-blown battle. He had refused to stay still, dodging her grasp like a mini ninja, running across the room in nothing but his tiny socks, giggling every time she tried to grab him. It had taken a mix of threats, bribes, scoldings, and a few slaps on his little butt to finally get him into his outfit.
By the time Jae was ready, Evie was already frustrated, sweaty, and on the verge of losing it. And to make matters worse—Jungkook was still in the bathroom, repeating the same damn line he had been saying for the past thirty minutes.
"Just five more minutes, babe."
Five more minutes, my ass.
With a deep breath, she knocked again, this time harder. "Jungkook, if you don’t come out in the next ten seconds, I swear I’ll—"
Before she could finish, the door swung open, and there stood Jeon Jungkook—finally.
And to her utter irritation, he looked handsome as ever.
Dressed in a fitted black suit, hair perfectly styled, and smelling like expensive cologne, he had the audacity to smirk as if he hadn’t just wasted half an hour.
Evie wanted to be mad. She really did. But looking at him, she could only sigh in defeat.
"You’re impossible," she muttered, shaking her head.
Jungkook chuckled, leaning down to peck her cheek. "And yet, you married me."
She narrowed her eyes. "Yeah, biggest mistake of my life."
"Too late to back out now, babe." He winked before casually walking past her, completely unfazed.
Evie groaned. This man would be the death of her.
Jungkook strolled over to their son, Jae, who was now standing proudly in his little suit, looking adorable and way too smug for someone who had just given his mother the fight of her life while getting dressed.
Jungkook’s lips curled into a smile as he crouched down, adjusting Jae’s tiny bowtie. "Well, don’t you look sharp, buddy?"
Jae, proud as ever, puffed out his chest. "Of course, Daddy. Mommy fought to make me look this good."
Jungkook let out a chuckle, ruffling Jae’s neatly combed hair, much to Evie’s frustration.
"Jeon Jungkook," she snapped, "I spent twenty minutes wrestling this child just to make him look decent, and you’re going to ruin it in two seconds?"
Jungkook quickly pulled his hand back, looking guilty for all of a second before that mischievous glint returned to his eyes. "My bad."
Evie rolled her eyes and checked the time. 6:50 PM.
She clenched her jaw.
Ten minutes. That’s all they had left before they were officially late to Jungkook’s friend’s anniversary gathering.
And yet—
Her hair? A disaster.
Her outfit? Not even picked out.
Her patience? On the verge of snapping.
Both father and son were dressed and looking like a walking advertisement for a luxury brand, while she—thanks to her beloved idiot husband—hadn’t even had a chance to change.
Evie took a deep breath, trying very hard not to let the growing irritation take over. "I don’t have time to get ready now," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
But of course, Jungkook heard it.
And being the ever-charming, ever-useless-in-times-like-these husband that he was, he walked up to her with a teasing grin and said, "You don’t need to get ready. My wife looks stunning even like this."
Evie stop.
Slowly, she turned her head to look at him, her sharp glare enough to make a lesser man tremble.
Jungkook, however, was not a lesser man.
He was a fool.
And the smirk on his face proved it.
"Jeon Jungkook," she said in a dangerously low tone, "if you don’t want me to smack you before going to that party, so better be quiet."
Jungkook immediately raised his hands in surrender, though the amused look on his face remained. "Okay, okay. Let’s pick a dress, yeah?"
He didn’t wait for a reply before heading straight to their wardrobe, shoving through every dress she owned.
"This one?" he asked, pulling out a navy-blue gown.
Evie crossed her arms, tapping her foot impatiently. "Too formal."
"Hmm, okay… what about this?" He held up a red dress.
"Too much."
Jungkook hummed, digging deeper, clearly enjoying himself. "This one is nice," he finally said, holding up a sleek black gown.
Evie examined it for a second. It wasn’t bad. In fact, it was perfect. She was about to agree when Jungkook suddenly leaned in close, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "But without it, you’d look so damn hot."
Silence.
Evie blinked.
Then she turned to look at their son, who was completely oblivious, too focused on his toy car to hear his shameless father.
Then she turned back to Jungkook, who was standing there, grinning like a devil.
Her fingers twitched. She was going to kill him.
"Wrong mood, wrong time, Jeon," she said through gritted teeth.
Jungkook, the absolute menace of a man that he was, simply winked. "Oops."
After what felt like a full-blown war, filled with heated debates, endless teasing, and way too many smacks on Jungkook’s butt, Evie finally got ready. Of course, she was late—but at this point, what was new?
And unlike how she used to get ready—where she would dress boldly, confidently, and turn heads the moment she walked in—tonight, she barely had the energy for that. Instead of the usual striking makeup and a show-stopping dress, she settled for something decent enough to blend in with the high-class crowd. She still looked beautiful, of course, but it wasn’t the usual effort she put in when she actually cared.
By the time she was ready, the house looked like a hurricane had passed through it. Clothes thrown over the bed, toys scattered across the floor from Jae’s earlier tantrum, and Jungkook’s abandoned accessories lying everywhere. It was a mess.
Evie sighed deeply, rubbing her temples as she took one last look at the disaster they had left behind. The knowledge that she would have to clean all this up later made her head pound even more. But for now, she forced herself to ignore it and focus on getting through this evening without losing her mind.
With a final huff, she grabbed her clutch and followed Jungkook and Jae outside, where their driver had already pulled up with the car.
Jungkook, being the ever-relaxed husband, opened the car door and slid inside effortlessly, their five-year-old son, Jae, happily climbing onto his lap like he owned the world. Evie followed right after, shutting the door behind her before settling into her seat.
As the car started moving, she turned to look at Jae, who was comfortably resting against Jungkook, his tiny legs swinging in excitement.
She took a deep breath.
"Jae," she called, her voice firm, instantly grabbing her son's attention. His big round eyes blinked up at her innocently—too innocently.
She narrowed her eyes. "Listen carefully. We’re going to a gathering. Your dad’s friends will be there. So I need you to—"
"Have fun?" Jae grinned.
Evie’s eyes twitched. "No."
Jae pouted. "Make new friends?"
Evie let out a slow exhale, already losing patience. "Jae, I’m serious. Don’t be a brat. Don’t misbehave. No crying over every little thing, and for the love of God—don’t say anything stupid."
Jae’s pout deepened as he folded his tiny arms. "I don’t say stupid things."
Jungkook, who had been silent up until now, snorted.
Evie shot him a glare before turning back to their son. "Jae, I mean it. If you embarrass us today, you know what will happen when we get back home."
Jae froze.
He knew exactly what that meant.
"Yes, Mommy," he mumbled, sulking.
Satisfied, Evie nodded, but Jungkook—being the responsible father that he was—decided to add his own warning.
"Jae," he said, his tone suddenly serious. "Do you know how much money we’re spending to send you to the best school?"
Jae tilted his head, thinking for a moment before replying, "A lot?"
"A lot," Jungkook emphasized. "So at least act like a smart kid for one night, okay? Show us that all that money isn’t going to waste."
Jae let out a dramatic sigh before giggling, clearly amused by his parents' stress.
Evie, unimpressed, gave him a pointed look.
"Jae," she said again, her voice dropping.
At that, their little troublemaker quickly straightened up and nodded. "Okay, okay! I promise I’ll be good."
Evie eyed him suspiciously, but at least for now, he was behaving.
She leaned back in her seat, exhaling slowly. The night hadn’t even started yet, and she already felt exhausted.
The car ride was anything but peaceful.
Jae, seated comfortably on Jungkook’s lap, had no filter as usual. He pressed his face against the car window, pointing at random things outside and blurting out nonsense, laughing at his own thoughts like he was in his own little world.
“That tree looks like a giant broccoli!” he giggled. “Oh! And that man looks like Grandpa but uglier!”
Evie sighed, rubbing her temple. This child…
Meanwhile, Jungkook wasn’t paying attention to Jae’s silly observations. No, his focus was entirely on Evie.
Correction—he was glaring at her.
Evie, who had been scrolling through her phone, felt the weight of his intense stare and finally looked up. "What?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jungkook didn’t answer. Instead, his hand drifted onto her thigh, sliding up the exposed skin revealed by the slit in her dress.
Evie’s eyes widened slightly as she glanced at Jae—who, thankfully, was still occupied with his ridiculous commentary about ugly trees and broccoli-shaped men.
She shot Jungkook a warning glare, discreetly pointing toward their son. But as expected, Jungkook didn’t care. His fingers continued their slow, teasing movements, dangerously creeping upwards.
Evie had enough.
Smack!
She slapped his hand away, muttering under her breath, “Shameless. Why are you always so damn horny?”
Jungkook, completely unbothered, simply huffed and pulled his hand back, crossing his arms like a sulking child.
Evie rolled her eyes. “Unbelievable.”
Jungkook just smirked. "You married me."
Before she could retaliate, the car slowed down as they finally arrived at the venue.
Late, But Not the Latest
Unsurprisingly, they were late—but, luckily, they weren’t the last ones to arrive. Guests were still trickling in, which meant they could blend in without drawing too much attention to their tardiness.
Stepping out of the car, Jungkook immediately straightened his suit while Evie adjusted the hem of her dress. Jae, on the other hand, refused to stand still. The moment his tiny feet touched the ground, he started bouncing in excitement, looking around with curious eyes.
“Jae,” Evie warned, tightening her grip on his little hand. “No running. You hear me?”
“Yes, Mommy,” he answered sweetly, flashing her a bright, innocent smile.
Evie didn’t buy it. Not one bit.
Still holding onto Jae’s hand, she and Jungkook made their way inside, greeted by a warm atmosphere filled with soft music, elegant decorations, and guests chatting over glasses of expensive wine.
Jungkook immediately spotted his friends and led Evie toward them.
“Guys, this is my wife, Evie,” he introduced smoothly.
Evie had seen these people before—at previous business events or casual gatherings—but she never really knew them personally. Still, she flashed a polite smile and exchanged greetings.
As they engaged in conversation, Jae started squirming, clearly getting restless. He tugged at Evie’s grip, trying to wiggle free.
“Mommy, I wanna go look around!”
“No,” Evie responded without hesitation.
“But Moooom—”
“I said no.”
Jae pouted dramatically, but Evie didn’t budge. She knew exactly what would happen if she let him go—chaos. And tonight, she wasn’t about to let her five-year-old turn this elegant event into a disaster zone.
She tightened her hold on his little hand, keeping him close. Perfect mother mode: activated.
Meanwhile, Jungkook, watching all of this unfold, leaned down slightly and whispered, grinning—
"You’re terrifying."
Evie shot him a side glance. "And you’re an idiot."
Jungkook chuckled, slipping an arm around her waist.
The event was in full swing. Guests mingled, conversations flowed effortlessly, and everything seemed to be going smoothly—except for one tiny problem.
Jae.
While Evie and Jungkook were caught up in conversations with different guests, their five-year-old was growing more and more impatient by the second. At first, he clung to Jungkook’s leg, huffing dramatically whenever someone ignored him. Then, he started tugging at Evie’s dress, whispering urgent complaints about his growling tummy.
At first, Evie tried shushing him, gently patting his head as she continued talking. But when that didn’t work, she leaned down and whispered, “Jae, behave. We’ll eat soon.”
Jae didn’t buy it. He wanted food now.
After what felt like an eternity of whispers, tugs, and adorable but relentless pleading, Jungkook finally gave in. With a sigh, he excused himself from the conversation and scooped Jae up in his arms.
As soon as they stepped aside, Jungkook narrowed his eyes at his son. “Are we not feeding you enough at home?” he teased.
Jae, completely missing the sarcasm, nodded seriously. “Yes.”
Jungkook almost choked. “Excuse me?”
“I’m hungry all the time, but Mommy only gives me little food,” Jae pouted dramatically, pressing a hand to his stomach as if he were about to collapse from starvation.
Evie, who had just joined them, looked personally offended. “Oh, really? Who ate five pancakes this morning?”
Jae paused. “...Me.”
“And who stole half of Daddy’s fries at lunch?”
“...Me.”
Evie crossed her arms. “And who snuck into the kitchen and ate chocolate when I specifically said no sweets before dinner?”
Jae gulped. “...Also me.”
Jungkook smirked. “Exactly. So explain to me how you’re ‘not getting enough food’?”
Jae, cornered by his own words, blinked innocently and then shrugged. “I dunno. I’m just always hungry.”
Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Evie, on the other hand, had a bigger problem—teaching her child patience.
“Listen, Jae,” she started, kneeling to his level. “The dinner service hasn’t started yet. We can’t just rush in and eat before everyone else. It doesn’t look appropriate. We have to wait with others, okay?”
Jae’s tiny brows furrowed. “But why?”
“Because that’s how events work,” Evie explained. “There’s a schedule.”
Jungkook nodded, backing her up. “Yeah, kid. You don’t see me running to the food table, do you?”
Jae tilted his head, squinting at his father suspiciously.
“…That’s only because Mommy would beat you up if you did.”
Evie snorted, while Jungkook gasped dramatically. “Excuse me? Who taught you that?”
Jae grinned. “You did. You told Uncle Jimin that Mommy is scary.”
Evie turned to Jungkook, narrowing her eyes.
Jungkook immediately pointed at Jae. “He’s lying.”
“I don’t lie,” Jae huffed, crossing his arms.
Evie sighed. “Jae, we’ll get food as soon as it’s served. You just have to be patient.”
Jae’s lips pushed into a deep pout, but after a moment, he finally sighed in defeat. “Fine.”
After what felt like a lifetime of Jae’s dramatic complaints, it was finally dinner time.
The tables were set beautifully, waiters moved around serving the guests, and the atmosphere was filled with the rich aroma of gourmet dishes. Evie and Jungkook, finally relieved, settled at their table while Jae bounced in his seat with excitement.
But the moment the food was placed in front of them, chaos began.
Jae’s eyes widened in wonder, his mouth practically watering as he stared at the dishes being served. The child looked so fascinated, you’d think he had never seen food before.
And then—he started eating.
Not normally.
Not gracefully.
But like a boy who had been starved for days.
Jungkook and Evie froze in horror as their five-year-old shoveled spoonfuls of rice into his mouth, his tiny cheeks puffing out like a squirrel hoarding nuts. He grabbed his fork, stuffing pieces into his mouth before he even finished chewing. His legs swung happily under the table, and every bite came with an exaggerated ‘Mmm!’ like he was a judge on a cooking show.
The people around them stole amused glances.
Evie and Jungkook, on the other hand, wanted to disappear into thin air.
“Jae, slow down!” Evie hissed, leaning closer. “Eat properly! You’re embarrassing us!”
Jungkook covered his face with his hand, peeking through his fingers. “Oh my god, people are gonna think we don’t feed you.”
Jae, still chewing, blinked innocently. “But you don’t feed me enough.”
Evie’s eye twitched.
Jungkook nearly spit out his drink.
“Excuse me?” Evie whisper-shouted, gripping her fork like she was seconds away from stabbing her husband out of frustration.
Jungkook choked out a laugh, shaking his head. “Nope. Not dealing with this. This is your son.”
“You helped make him!” Evie shot back.
Before their argument could escalate, a familiar voice interrupted.
“Well, if it isn’t the Jeons.”
Jungkook and Evie looked up to see Mr. Lee and his wife approaching their table.
Mr. Lee was one of Jungkook’s closest friends and business partners, practically family. His wife, a kind woman with a warm smile, greeted Evie with a small hug before they both took a seat at the table.
“You don’t mind us joining, do you?” Mr. Lee asked.
“Of course not,” Jungkook said, forcing a polite smile.
Mrs. Lee smiled at Jae, who was still busy stuffing his face. “And this must be your son?”
Evie immediately placed a firm hand on Jae’s arm, silently telling him to behave.
Jae, with his mouth still full, looked up and nodded. “Mhm.”
Mr. Lee chuckled. “What’s your name, little man?”
“Jae Jeon,” the boy answered proudly.
“Oh? And how old are you?”
Jae held up five fingers. “This many.”
Mrs. Lee giggled. “So cute! Are you in school yet?”
Jae nodded, swallowing his food before answering. “Yes. Mommy and Daddy say they send me to the best school ever. They work super hard and spend lots of money, so I have to be smart.”
Jungkook and Evie nodded in approval, thinking—Finally, something normal he says.
But then Jae continued.
“…But I don’t like school. It’s boring. I just wanna be rich like Daddy, so I don’t have to study.”
Evie stiffened.
Jungkook almost choked on his drink.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee? Laugh at the child innocence.
“Jae!” Evie scolded, nudging him under the table. “That’s not true, is it?”
Jae frowned in confusion. “But Daddy said the same thing to Uncle Jimin. He said, ‘I didn’t need school, I just needed money and a business plan.’”
Jungkook immediately glared at his son. “Jae, stop talking nonsense, focus on your food.”
Jae shrugged. “I just say what I hear.”
Evie sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she wishpered towards jae. “J“Jae, Focus on food and stop talking nonsense.”
Jae, completely unfazed, happily continued eating.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was busy mentally preparing his will.
As the dinner went on, Mr. and Mrs. Lee continued engaging Jae in conversation, clearly entertained by the little boy’s charm. They chuckled every time he answered with an innocent yet smart remark, and for once, Jungkook and Evie felt a sense of pride instead of sheer humiliation.
Jae was holding up well in front of adults, responding politely, speaking with confidence, and even managing to sound mature at times. It was a rare moment where his chaotic nature wasn’t shining through, and both parents were silently thanking the universe for this temporary blessing.
Mr. Lee, who had been watching the child eat, eventually tilted his head in amusement. “It’s impressive how well he eats,” he observed. “Most kids these days are so picky about food, refusing to eat anything green, but Jae seems to be enjoying everything—including the vegetables in his pasta.”
Jungkook nodded with a proud smile, reaching over to ruffle his son’s hair. “Oh, he loves eating. He’s not one of those kids who throw a fit over food. If you put something on his plate, he’ll eat it without complaints. He’s not picky at all.”
Mr. Lee smiled, clearly impressed. “That’s a good habit. Not many kids are like that.”
Jae, hearing the praise, straightened up in his chair, looking pleased with himself. “Eating food makes us strong,” he declared confidently, stabbing a piece of broccoli with his fork and taking a big bite. “That’s why I eat lots of vegetables. I want to be strong like Daddy.”
Mrs. Lee chuckled. “That’s a great reason to eat well.”
But Jae wasn’t done. “I wanna be really strong! Like Daddy and Mommy! They’re both strong, and I wanna win wrestling matches like Daddy.”
Jungkook and Evie got little confused. Mr. Lee chuckled along with them, clearly amused. “Wrestling, huh? I never knew Jungkook was a wrestler.”
For a moment, everything seemed normal. It was a lighthearted conversation about Jae’s admiration for his father, a typical exchange between families over dinner.
But then—Jae continued.
“Yes, my daddy is wrestler!” the little boy chirped, his mouth still full. “Daddy is really strong wrestler! He wrestles with Mommy every night!”
There was a beat of silence.
Jungkook and Evie froze.
The words hung in the air for a moment, not quite sinking in at first. Then—like a slow, horrifying realization—the meaning became painfully clear.
Jungkook’s hand, which had been reaching for his drink, stopped mid-air. Evie, who had been about to take a bite of her food, slowly lowered her fork. The air around them seemed to shift, the atmosphere turning unbearably awkward.
Across the table, Mr. Lee and his wife exchanged a quick glance. Mrs. Lee cleared her throat, shifting slightly in her seat. Mr. Lee, ever the composed man, kept his expression neutral—but there was a small twitch at the corner of his lips, like he was desperately holding back a reaction.
Meanwhile, Jae, completely oblivious to the tension, continued eating happily.
Evie and Jungkook stared at each other in silent panic, their faces slowly turning red. They wanted to believe—hoped—that maybe, just maybe, the couple sitting across from them hadn’t fully grasped what Jae meant.
But then—Jae kept talking.
“Every night when I go to sleep, Mommy and Daddy wrestle! They always make me sleep early so they can do wrestling,” he said, chewing on his food like he hadn’t just set his parents on fire with embarrassment.
Jungkook shut his eyes briefly, regretting every life choice that led him to this moment. Evie, on the other hand, had completely stiffened, gripping her fork so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
Mr. Lee cleared his throat again, this time a little louder, while Mrs. Lee took a slow sip of her drink, both visibly trying to navigate the minefield they had suddenly walked into.
Despite the deafening silence, Jae—blissfully unaware—wasn’t done yet.
“I asked Daddy if I could watch them wrestle one time,” he continued, shoving another spoonful of rice into his mouth. “But he got mad and told me I can’t see it.”
Jungkook let out a slow, embarrassment exhale.
Evie, at this point, looked like she was about to pass out from sheer humiliation.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee were sitting unnaturally straight, eyes darting between the two parents, looking as if they wanted to escape but didn’t know how.
The weight of the silence was unbearable.
It was over.
There was no recovering from this.
But—Jae, being the little menace he was, had one final blow left.
“But one thing I don’t know why, but Daddy always wins the wrestling,” he pouted, stabbing at his pasta with his fork. “I want Mommy to win something too.”
Jungkook and Evie both stopped breathing.
The sheer horror on their faces was something no words could describe.
There was no misunderstanding anymore.
Mr. Lee let out a small cough, trying—and failing—to mask his amusement. Mrs. Lee looked down at her plate, lips pressed together in a tight line, clearly trying not to laugh.
Jungkook could feel his entire life flash before his eyes.
His reputation.
His dignity.
His will to live. Gone.
Evie, cheeks burning, finally snapped out of her shock and immediately turned to Jae, forcing a strained, panicked smile. “J-Jae,….eat..y-your food.”
Jae shrugged, completely unaffected, and continued eating like nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, Jungkook and Evie sat in absolute mortification, hoping—praying—for the ground to open up and swallow them whole.
The dinner continued, but the air remained thick with unspoken words.
Just when Jungkook and Evie thought the night couldn’t possibly get worse, Jae turned to Mr. and Mrs. Lee with that same innocent curiosity in his eyes.
“Do you two wrestle too?” he asked, tilting his head as if it was the most natural question in the world.
The impact was immediate.
Mr. Lee and Mrs. Lee both choked on their food.
Mrs. Lee quickly grabbed her napkin, coughing while Mr. Lee patted his chest, his face a mix of disbelief and sheer panic. Jungkook and Evie? They didn’t even have the strength to react anymore.
Jungkook’s soul had already left his body.
Evie, at this point, was contemplating fleeing the country.
Mr. Lee, still recovering, finally managed to stutter out a response. “N-N… No! I-I’m not a… a wrestler.”
Jae, nodding thoughtfully, took another bite of his food. “Oh… but you should learn. I’m going to learn too, so I can wrestle like Daddy.”
Another wave of silence swept over the table.
Mrs. Lee took a slow, measured sip of her drink, while Mr. Lee just stared at his plate, looking like he regretted sitting with them.
Evie squeezed her eyes shut. Why? Why was this her life?
Jungkook, staring blankly at his plate, didn’t even bother to intervene. What was the point? Jae had already ruined them beyond repair.
After what felt like an eternity, Mr. and Mrs. Lee hurriedly finished their food and excused themselves.
“We should—uh—go check on some other guests,” Mr. Lee said, standing up a little too quickly.
“Yes, it was lovely having dinner with you,” Mrs. Lee added with a tight smile, avoiding eye contact as she grabbed her husband’s arm.
Jungkook and Evie didn’t even try to stop them.
In fact, they both silently agreed that letting them escape was the best decision for everyone involved.
Once the couple was gone, Jae continued eating peacefully, completely unfazed by the destruction he had left in his wake.
Evie and Jungkook, on the other hand, finally snapped.
“JAE!” they both whisper-yelled, turning to him with expressions of pure horror.
“What?” he asked, blinking up at them.
Jungkook ran a hand down his face, looking like he had aged ten years. “You can’t just—say stuff like that!”
Jae shrugged. “I was just telling the truth. And Daddy always says we should tell the truth.”
Evie stared at him, at a complete loss for words.
Jungkook, unable to argue with his own logic being used against him, just groaned and buried his face in his hands.
As the event finally ended, Jungkook and Evie stormed out of the venue, barely holding themselves together.
This was, without a doubt, the worst night of their lives.
Nothing—nothing—could top this level of embarrassment.
They had been publicly humiliated by their own child, and there was no coming back from it.
The moment they stepped outside, Evie exhaled sharply, running a frustrated hand through her hair.
“That’s it. I’m done,” she declared. “I’m leaving this country.”
Jungkook, without hesitation, shrugged. “Take him with you.”
Evie snapped her head toward him, eyes blazing. “Excuse me?”
“I don’t want him anymore,” Jungkook said flatly, rubbing his temples. “I’ll sign over full custody right now.”
Jae, completely oblivious to his parents’ misery, was happily skipping ahead of them, humming a random tune, completely unbothered.
Meanwhile, Jungkook and Evie were locked in a full-blown argument.
“This is your fault!” Evie hissed, jabbing a finger at Jungkook’s chest.
Jungkook scoffed. “My fault?! How the hell is this my fault?”
“You’re the one who can’t keep your damn dick in your pants—even when our son is in the house!” she shot back. “Now look at the consequences!”
Jungkook groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “I didn’t think he’d actually hear anything!”
“Well, he did, Jungkook! And now, thanks to you, the entire world thinks we run a wrestling tournament in our bedroom every night!”
Jungkook sighed heavily, finally glancing at Jae—who was still lost in his own little world, completely unaffected by the chaos he had created.
For the first time in his life, Jungkook experienced true, soul-crushing regret.
This little menace was his own flesh and blood—and his biggest downfall.

Aftermath
Jae had successfully traumatized his parents for life.
After that night, Jungkook and Evie made a silent, unspoken vow—they would never, ever attend another social gathering with Jae until he turned 18. Maybe even 25.
The ride home was filled with a special kind of parental love—also known as furious scolding and a few well-deserved spankings. Jae, of course, remained completely unbothered, casually munching on his candy like he hadn't just publicly destroyed his parents' dignity.
As for Jungkook and Evie? They decided to put an indefinite pause on their "wrestling matches." Jungkook mourned this loss deeply.
* * *
Lesson of the Day:
1. Never assume a five-year-old is oblivious. They hear everything. They see everything. And they will repeat it at the worst possible moment.
2. If you’re going to “wrestle,” make sure your child is in a coma.
3. The real danger in life isn’t your enemies— maybe it’s your own kid.
4. Birth control is a blessing.

🤍 I hope you laughed at this because I sure did. I just needed a break from all the dramatic shit I’ve been writing, so I decided to write this for fun.
