The Day The Sky Fell Down
Today was the day that the sky fell down.
When it fell it shook the ground,
I should have cried but instead I smiled.
My body shook,
And my arms faltered,
From the release of pressure that comes only with a special kind of sweet relief.
I basked in sun,
my eyes took on a haze.
I honestly could not tell if the haze was just a healing glaze,
Or maybe just the prelude to a wondrous burn.
I relished the warmth,
And I stood still,
paralyzed.
The seasons changed
And I continued to thaw,
The dam came off its hinges,
and the flood waters rose.
As if right on que,
I flowed with the tide.
And I really couldn't tell you,
the correct reasons why.
I was there for the moment
and then I was gone with the wind.

Your writing is absolutely fantastic powerful, emotional, and deeply moving. It’s the kind of work that deserves to be seen by more eyes, beyond this space. There's a massive platform one that turns stories like yours into monthly streams of passive income. if you're open to something bigger… I’d love to show you what’s possible.
